There are fresh reports of tension in&nbsp;Kerala where Jishnu Prannoy, a deceased engineering student&rsquo;s mother was arrested earlier today.&nbsp;

Jishnu Prannoy was a student of Nehru College of Engineering in Thrissur, Kerala. He was found hanging after being allegedly&nbsp;tortured by college authorities in January. Most accused in the case have not been arrested.&nbsp;

The family of the deceased believe that physical and mental harassment by the college authorities had led to Jishnu&#39;s&nbsp;suicide, his parents have demanded the&nbsp;arrest of all those who were involved, including Nehru College chairman Krishna Das. The parents have continued to protest, demanding the arrest of those responsible for their son&#39;s&nbsp;death. Mahija, mother of the deceased was forcibly removed and arrested today in front the state police headquarters after she continued her protest on the road and resisted police intervention.&nbsp;

According to the police, the protesters continued even after a warning was issued by the security personnel. Police had earlier warned the protesters to stage any form of protest at least hundred&nbsp;metres away but they paid no heed and assembled at the headquarters at 10:15am(local time).&nbsp;

It is expected that all arrested would be taken to Nandavanam police camp where they will be let off on bail.&nbsp;

Both parties, Congress and BJP have now called for a strike in Thiruvananthapuram following police action on the parents of Jishnu Prannoy.&nbsp;
