An anti-terrorism court in Pakistan convicted four people of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) on Thursday in a terror-financing case.&nbsp;

JuD's Malik Zafar Iqbal and Muhammad Yahya were convicted under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 and sentenced to five years each with a fine of Rs 50,000, The Dawn reported. The other two convicts, Abdul Rehman Makki and Abdul Salam were given imprisonment of one year each with a fine of Rs 20,000.

This verdict belonged to one of the 23 cases filed by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) against JuD.&nbsp;

The judge said that the property questioned appears to be used for terror financing.&nbsp;

"There was a strong suspicion that the said property was used or suspected to have been used for the purpose of terror financing," the judge said.&nbsp;

After the verdict, CTD spokesman said three of the convicts were UN-designated people involved in terrorism financing and said that their conviction would play a huge role in checking terror financing in the country.

Earlier in February, five-and-a-half-year imprisonment was handed down to Hafiz Saeed, leader of the JuD and the mastermind of the 26/11 terror attacks in India.&nbsp;
