A Special Court has extended Enforcement Directorate (ED) remand of Congress leader P Chidambaram till 30th October in INX media case, reported news agency ANI.

Chidambaram's health checkup to be done at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the report added.

Chidambaram on Wednesday moved a bail petition in the INX media case and asserted that all the other accused in the matter have been granted bail.

The ED which is probing the money laundering charges against the leader had arrested him on October 16, following which he was remanded in custody by a special court till October 24, which is also getting expired today.

The Supreme Court recently granted him bail in the money laundering case which is being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Chidambaram was arrested on August 21 by the CBI in connection with the graft case after which the court initially remanded him to custody and later sent to Tihar Jail.

The agency has recently charge-sheeted him and others, including his son Karti and a handful of bureaucrats, for causing loss to the exchequer by allegedly committing offences under the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Congress MP Karti Chidambaram on Thursday accused the central agencies of "bogus investigation" and working with an "agenda" to keep his father P Chidambaram in custody after a court today sent the former union minister to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate in the INX Media money laundering case till October 24.

"This is a bogus investigation. Their agenda is not a genuine investigation but to keep him (P Chidambaram) in custody as soon as it is permissible in the law. There is no ostensible purpose than to keep him in custody," Karti told reporters.

He alleged that the ED was presenting "the same bogey of accounts and shell companies" before courts to seek the custody of the 74-year-old leader.

"My father and I are MPs and our assets and liabilities are in the public domain," said Karti.&nbsp;

P Chidambaram, a former union minister, was arrested by the ED on Wednesday under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.&nbsp;

A special court here sent to the ED custody till October 24 on Thursday. Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar, while sending Chidambaram to the custody, allowed an application filed by Chidambaram seeking western toilet, home-cooked food, medicine and a separate cell.

In August, the senior Congress leader was booked by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the charges of corruption in the same case.&nbsp;

Central agencies want to keep my father in custody for long period: Karti Chidambaram

Congress leader and former finance minister&nbsp;P Chidambaram is likely to be arrested by the&nbsp;Enforcement Directorate (ED)&nbsp;on October 14 as a special court in Delhi on Friday ordered for his production before it in connection with INX Media money laundering case.

Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar has sought his production in the court on October 14 at 3 pm.&nbsp;

During the proceedings today, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing ED in the matter, told the court that Chidambaram`s custodial interrogation is required as the agency wants to seek information related to the shell company in abroad and 17 bank accounts from him.

Even the Supreme Court had observed that his custodial interrogation is required in the case, Mehta asserted.

Chidambaram is currently in judicial custody in Tihar jail in the corruption case related to the alleged scam being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

INX media case: ED attaches Karti Chidambaram’s assets worth Rs 54 crore in India, UK, Spain

The Central Bureau of Investigation has sought an extension of Karti Chidambaram&#39;s custody for 14 days.&nbsp;

Chidambaram was produced in the Delhi Patiala Court on Thursday in connection with the hearing in INX Media case.&nbsp;

The CBI said &quot;Interrogation has only taken place for a short time.He did appear for interrogation but remained evasive.Custodial interrogation is completely different&#39;.

The CBI&#39;s demand for a further extension of his custody came after the expiration of the one-day police custody.

The Court has also reserved order on the bail plea of Chidambaram&#39;s Chartered Accountant S Bhaskaran who will remain in jail till March 7.&nbsp;

The CBI has claimed on having&nbsp;documents which prove clear links of Karti Chidambaram and various companies.&nbsp;

The CBI said &quot;We have emails and invoices indicating money was given to Advantage Strategic Consultancy Private Limited (ASCPL) in the time period when INX media received favours&quot;.

The CBI also said that the purpose of the initial custody was defeated when Karti was shifted to Cardiac Care Unit.&nbsp;

The CBI added that Karti&#39;s medical examination was surprising as he was perfectly fine in the morning.&nbsp;

The Central Bureau of Investigation has sought an extension of Karti Chidambaram's custody for 14 days. The Court has also reserved order on the bail plea of Chidambaram's Chartered Accountant S Bhaskaran who will remain in jail till March 7

The Central Bureau of Investigation has sought an extension of Karti Chidambaram's custody for 14 days. Chidambaram was produced in the Delhi Patiala Court on Thursday in connection with the hearing in INX Media case. The CBI said "Interrogation has only taken place for a short time.He did appear for interrogation but remained evasive.Custodial interrogation is completely different'. The CBI's demand for a further extension of his custody came after the expiration of the one-day police custody. The Court has also reserved order on the bail plea of Chidambaram's Chartered Accountant S Bhaskaran who will remain in jail till March 7. The CBI has claimed on having documents which prove clear links of Karti Chidambaram and various companies. The CBI said "We have emails and invoices indicating money was given to Advantage Strategic Consultancy Private Limited (ASCPL) in the time period when INX media received favours". The CBI also said that the purpose of the initial custody was defeated when Karti was shifted to Cardiac Care Unit. The CBI added that Karti's medical examination was surprising as he was perfectly fine in the morning. Whole purpose of y'day custody was defeated when after Karti's medical examination, doctor got him shifted to Cardiac Care Unit. It was surprising because Karti didn't complain of anything. He said " How can CBI claim non-cooperation when they have not issued summons? All documents are in their possession". Karti was arrested in connection with the INX Media money laundering case.
