According to the ministry, the home minister stressed on government's policy of 'Zero Tolerance' towards terrorism, insurgency, corruption as well as smuggling of weapons, narcotics and cattle.&nbsp;

"He directed the senior officers to take stringent measures against these practices. The Home Minister also directed the DGs to identify all issues affecting border security and submit a detailed action plan to the ministry in this regard," a government press statement said.

Shah also asked all DGs to ensure the best facilities for housing, health and training are available to the security personnel who are posted on the border.

"We must keep in mind that 130 crore countrymen are safe because of this security personnel on the border," Amit Shah said.&nbsp;

Speaking to ANI about the high-risk mission, Deswal said, "This operation was extremely challenging which was conducted at a height of 22,000 feet, adverse climatic conditions made it more difficult for the teams to conduct a search operation. We were unable to land our Indian Air Force helicopters due to tough climatic conditions, strong winds and uneven terrain."

Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) troops will undertake a first-of-its-kind daring rescue operation to retrieve the mortal remains of at least eight mountaineers suspected to have been killed in an avalanche near an unscaled peak adjoining Nanda Devi East in Uttarakhand, a senior official said Tuesday.

The Pithoragarh district administration has sought the services of the mountain-warfare trained troops of ITBP to undertake the mission under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act of 2005.

"A team comprising the best ITBP mountaineers has been formed. This is a high-risk mission as the only way to retrieve the bodies is through a heliborne operation. This is possibly the first time that bodies will be retrieved from a height of about 20,000 feet from a mountain peak in India," ITBP spokesperson Vivek Kumar Pandey told PTI here.

He said the ITBP climbers will be lowered down from the helicopter to fetch the bodies and the operation is expected to be launched on Wednesday on board an Indian Air Force helicopter.

It will be very difficult to launch a trekking rescue mission at this height and as it is, will take a very long time, Pandey said.

The spokesperson added that the ITBP headquarters is in constant touch with its 14th battalion based in Pithoragarh and adjoining units to undertake the operation.&nbsp;

All the required gadgets and equipment have been provided to the special rescue team and the district administration is being informed about it, he said.&nbsp;

Eight mountaineers, including from the US, the UK and Australia, were reported missing after they left Munsiyari on May 13 to scale the peak, but did not return to the base camp on the scheduled date of May 25.&nbsp;

The team was led by British mountaineer Martin Moran to the 7,434-metre peak.

It was a twelve-member group and four of them were rescued on Sunday.

IAF choppers spotted five bodies on Monday during their second day of aerial search.

The missing mountaineers comprised seven from the UK, the US and Australia, and a liaison officer from Delhi's Indian Mountaineering Foundation.

They have been identified as team leader Martin Moran, members John McLaren, Richard Payne, Rupert Havel (from the UK); Anthony Sudekum and Rachel Bimmel (from the US); Ruth Macrain (from Australia); and liaison officer Chetan Pandey.

Six jawans of the Army's JK Rifles unit were feared dead in an avalanche on the Sino-India border in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district on Wednesday, officials said.

The body of one of the jawans was recovered, but there was no trace of five others, Kinnaur Deputy Commissioner Gopal Chand said.

The avalanche occurred at around 11 am near Shipki La on the Sino-India border, he added.

According to Army officials, 16 jawans were patrolling the Sino-India border area when the avalanche struck, burying six of them alive. One of them was rescued, but he succumbed to his injuries subsequently.

A spokesperson of the Army said the search-and-rescue operation would go on till the last man was retrieved. A team of about 150 persons, including Army personnel, is searching for the trapped jawans, along with the police.

China tried to make multiple intrusion attempts in Ladakh in March, said a report submitted to the Home Ministry by Indo-Tibetan Border Police(ITBP).

According to the ITBP report, China intruded into India on February 28, March 3 and March 7, 12, 2018, through trains near the northern Pangong lake.

The report further states that March also recorded a maximum number of intrusion by Chinese forces into the Ladakh region.

However, the Chinese forces returned to their side after ITBP protested.

According to reports, China also infiltrated into Ladakh's Northern sub-sector on February 28, March 3 and 7 wherein they entered 7 kilometers inside the Indian territory. China retreated after meeting with retaliation from the Indian side.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the Chinese military had also claimed in border personnel meeting in March that they had protested against the<a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/china-objects-to-indias-transgression-in-arunachal-pradesh-india-rejects-the-protest-129126"> Indian army's 'transgression'</a> into the strategically sensitive Asaphila area along the disputed border in Arunachal Pradesh.

The India side had rejected these claims saying that the area in the upper Subansiri region of Arunachal Pradesh belongs to India and it was&nbsp;regularly carrying out patrols.
