Farmers' unions still insist they want the laws repealed, a coalition of unions called Samyukta Kisan Morcha said on Saturday in a letter to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare.

The government says the laws, which came into force in September, will unshackle farmers from having to sell their produce only at regulated wholesale markets. It argues farmers will gain if large traders, retailers and food processors can buy directly from producers, bypassing antiquated wholesale markets.

But tens of thousands of farmers have camped out on national highways demanding the government withdraw the laws that they fear will eventually dismantle regulated markets and stop the government buying rice and wheat at guaranteed prices.

Farmers' leaders would also in Tuesday's meeting oppose plans to impose stiff penalties for the burning of crop stubble, a major source of air pollution, according to the farmers' letter seen by Reuters.

Modi has dismissed the farmers' protests as motivated by his political opponents, while the main opposition Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the prime minister of introducing the laws to help a few business people.

Vishwesh Negi, Minister (Political, Press and Information), Indian high commission in London said, "The developing situation was brought to the attention of the UK Foreign Office and Home Office. London Metropolitan Police managed, controlled and eventually disposed the crowds. We could see that a few violent were arrested."

Protestors had told the authorities while taking permission that they will be protesting against the new farms laws of India but Khalistani flags were seen at the protest raising fears of anti-India elements behind the move.

Negi explained, "As expected, it soon became clear that the gathering was led by anti-India separatists who had taken the opportunity of the farm protests in India to ostensibly back the&nbsp;farmers in India but use the opportunity to pursue their own anti-India agenda."

Metropolitan Police had also issued a reminder, ahead of the protest to follow COVID protocols. The High Commission had raised the concerns of the upcoming protest with UK's metropolitan police earlier.

Indian High Commission in the United Kingdom is aware of Khalistani group-backed farmer rally being planned in London and raised the matter with the Metropolitan police.&nbsp;

The rally planned for December 10 is being organized by Khalistani secessionist group Sikhs for Justice(SFJ) which was banned by India just last year.&nbsp;

The UK government is still to take a call on if the rally can go ahead or not as per local regulations.&nbsp;

The Metropolitan police in an open letter to those who are organising and participating in it said, that it "strongly advises people not to attend any large gathering...We are still in the middle of a global pandemic and would urge you to consider other ways of making solidarity representations, perhaps in the form of a petition or an online forum."

"Please be advised that you may also be at risk of committing a criminal offence.....No person may participate in a gathering of more than 6 persons outdoors, unless certain exemptions apply," it said.

Calling the Canadian government to "ensure the fullest security of Indian diplomatic personnel", the statement asked the Canadian leadership to "refrain from pronouncements that legitimise extremist activism."

The fringe Khalistani element has the support of Pakistani's spy agency ISI, which would be keen to see the current developments as an opportunity to create trouble for Indian diplomats and mission. Earlier this year, a Canadian think tank MacDonald-Laurier Institute said that the cause of Khalistan has considerable support of Pakistan. &nbsp;
