<p>After the controversy boiled up, the content marketing company CEO reacted to the criticism with a follow-up post on Friday (August 23).</p>

<p>"As expected, a mere mention of word 'Brahmin' triggered many inferior beings. Tells a lot about who real casteists are. UCs get nothing from system - no reservation, no freebies. We earn everything on our own and have every right to be proud of our lineage. So, deal with it," said Tiwari, while referring to Indian society's upper castes as UCs.</p>

<p>The profile of Tiwari on X has the hashtag ‘OneFamilyOneReservation’ and she is known for speaking against caste-based reservation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Amid the uproar, the CEO called herself an “unapologetic Brahmin” and added that her community never enjoys any reservation or “freebies”.</p>

<p>In a social media post, she said that just the word Brahmin “triggered inferior beings”, which exposed the “real casteists”.</p>

<p>She further went on to say that Brahmins have been afraid of revealing their entire name and they have been made "villains" by politicians and activists.</p>

<p>"Brahmins today fear revealing their full name. So much hatred has been spread against us. We have been made villains by social justice activists and politicians. We don't harm anyone. We get no help from the government. We work hard. Why should we be ashamed of our caste?" she said, in a follow-up post.</p>

<p>“Hear this loud and clear: Brahmins didn’t oppress anyone. Don’t try to guilt-trip us for something that never happened. Our ancestors preserved the knowledge of Vedas and even died for it. I will be a proud Brahmin till the day I die. So, go cry somewhere else,” she added.</p>

<p>Some of the netizens called her insensitive, while others supported while calling the policy of reservation "unfair".</p>

<p>"Agree with many things except considering others as inferior. One can't fight for 'equality' if they consider themselves as 'superior' to others," wrote Vikas Pandey, who is a software engineer.</p>

<p>"Fully support you. We are milked by the government for taxes and in return get nothing," said X user Ashish Arora.</p>

<p>Laxman Narasimhan, an executive of Indian origin, joined the expanding club of business leaders with Indian ancestry who are leading major multinational corporations by officially assuming the position of Chief Executive Officer at the global coffee giant Starbucks.</p>

<p>Starbucks had announced in September of last year that Narasimhan would take over as the brand's&nbsp;future CEO and a member of the Starbucks Board of Directors.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Narasimhan joined Starbucks as the next CEO on October 1, 2022, after moving from London to the Seattle area, following a global hunt for the new CEO to succeed company founder and now&nbsp;former CEO, Howard Schultz.</p>

<p>“Effective today, Laxman Narasimhan has assumed the role of chief executive officer and will join the company’s board of directors,” Starbucks said in a statement.</p>

<p>“As he ascends into the role, Narasimhan will continue engaging the leadership team, sharing his early learnings and insights and assessing opportunities for the company as they chart a path forward,” the company said, as quoted by PTI.</p>

<p>Narasimhan, a former CEO of the consumer health, hygiene, and nutrition multinational Reckitt Benckiser with headquarters in the UK, joins Starbucks with nearly 30 years of experience managing multinational consumer goods businesses and providing advice to retailers, food distributors, restaurants, and e-commerce companies.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The company claimed that over the previous five months, he had engaged in a special immersion experience, travelling to work alongside staff members in more than 30 stores, manufacturing facilities, and support centres throughout the globe, "earning his barista certification" as he moved.</p>
