<p>Quizzed during an interview with CTV News&nbsp;if New Delhi was running away from the investigation, High Commissioner to Canada Sanjay Kumar Verma gave it straight to the Canadian media.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"All we're asking is give us something specific and relevant to move ahead. Unless that is there, what do I follow up with?"</p>

<p>It has been more than two months since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau came up with his 'credible allegations' that New Delhi was involved in the killing of the Khalistani separatist.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Verma made it clear that the Indian government was not involved in the killing of Nijjar.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Absolutely not. Decidedly not," he told the largest Canadian private network.</p>

<p>"And what we have said at that time as well, that this is a motivated and absurd allegation. And this is still an allegation. Whether we call it credible allegation, that's the choice of word, but it's an allegation," said Verma.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, Verma added that relations had improved since then.&nbsp;</p>

"</span>Some weeks ago, we stopped issuing visas in Canada because it was no longer safe for our diplomats to go to work to issue visas. So their safety and security was the primary reason we had to temporarily stop the issue of visas. We're tracking it very closely," Jaishankar said.</p>

<p>"My hope, my expectation is that situation would improve in the sense that our people would have greater confidence in being able to do their basic duty as diplomats," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We do not agree with the decisions taken by the Indian government that have resulted in a number of Canadian diplomats departing India," a spokesperson for Britain's Foreign Office said.</p>

<p>Previously, the Canadian government had taken the decision to bar Ram from entering the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The decision was made after he revealed to Canada Border Services Agency officers during an interview that he had "on and off" sheltered and fed armed Sikh militants on his farm in India between 1982 and 1992.</p>

<p>However, Worsfold found that the government's evaluation of Ram's involvement with the armed militants during that time was overly harsh.&nbsp;</p>
