Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz on Sunday said that "it was time to stop giving sacrifices and demand accountability" from the Imran Khan-led government.

Speaking at a youth convention, the opposition leader also said that her father and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was removed in 2017 on false allegations, and vowed that the next government will be formed by the PML-N, while telling the incumbent government to count its days, reported Geo News.

"Even today, when they wish to strike against Nawaz Sharif, they have to arrest his brother and summon his daughter before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a political case," she said.

This statement comes after NAB has summoned Maryam on March 26 to respond in a case pertaining to the acquisition of land in Raiwind as well as the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case, reported Geo News.

The PML-N will fight against NAB "with all their might if NAB causes any problems, said the PML-N leader, while remarking that the bureau is sore that their 'master Imran Khan' is being exposed in front of everyone for robbing the people of wheat, sugar, gas, electricity and their votes.

"They were so scared of the long march that they summoned me the very day the long march was (previously) scheduled," she maintained.

Maryam further said that if the 'fake government' had any real sway, then the 'fake' Imran Khan would not have been in the state he is today despite having forcibly obtained election results in his favour, according to Geo News.

She also credited the former Chief Minister of Punjab province, Shehbaz Sharif, for leaving behind a 'sparklingly clean Punjab', which has now been reduced to a 'mound of garbage'.

"PML-N knows that if it allows the government to continue for the next two-and-a-half years, its name might be erased from the pages of history, but the PM has the gall to say he will mobilise the public against the Opposition," she further said.

"Wherever there is an election, Inshaallah Nawaz Sharif will win [...] and wherever there is election rigging and underhanded dealing, you will see that we have lost," Maryam Nawaz remarked.

The Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) has lost the management of Gurdwara Kartarpur to Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) of Pakistan.

Pakistan's Evacuee Trust Property Board, a statutory board of the Government of Pakistan which administers evacuee properties left behind by Hindus and Sikhs who migrated to India after partition.

The Pakistan Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) on November 3 (Tuesday) officially took away the full control of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur in Punjab's Narowal District from Sikh Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee and gave it to Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), a Muslim body. The ETPB manages religious properties and shrines of Hindus and Sikhs in Pakistan.

"Consequent upon the approval of Project Management Unit (PMU) Kartarpur Corridor by ECC of the Cabinet, and ratified by the Cabinet (conveyed by MoRA...dated 23.10.2020), the competent authority has been pleased to establish Project Management Unit (PMU), a self-financing body, for Management and Maintenance of Gurdwara Dardar Sahib Kartarpur (GADSK) under the administrative control of ETPB." the official order by Government of Pakistan read.

Earlier on October 29, the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) had announced that they will celebrate the first anniversary of the inauguration of the historic Kartarpur Corridor on November 9.

However, the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) had distanced itself from the PSGPC’s initiative, saying "it has not received any instructions to celebrate the first anniversary of the inauguration of the corridor so far."

Germany's Federal Security Council headed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel has decided that Germany will not supply Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) systems for Pakistani submarines.

What is AIP system?

As its name suggests, Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) system reduces a submarine's dependence on atmospheric air.

Normally conventional diesel-electric engine submarines have to surface daily for Oxygen required for fuel combustion.

A submarine is its most vulnerable state when it surfaces as it can be easily detected.

AIP lets a submarine's engine run without atmospheric air for a week. This means that the submarine can remain underwater for the entire duration, increasing its capability.

Indian Navy has its own indigenously developed Air Independent Propulsion system. The system has been developed by Naval Material Research Laboratory (NMRL).

Hindustan Times quoted an unnamed Indian official to say that Germany's snub to Pakistan would "adversely impact" lethality of Pakistani submarines.

Why was Pakistan snubbed?

It is believed that Germany snubbed Pakistan as it could not bring all perpetrators of terror attack on German Embassy to justice.

150 people were killed as truck bomb devastated German Embassy in Kabul in 2017. Haqqani Network was thought to be against the attack. Haqqani Network has a presence in Pakistan.
