<p>Shah Rukh Khan admitted that it felt 'good to be back' as he won the Best Actor award at the recently held International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards.<br />

On Saturday night, Khan won the popular award for his role in the 2023 blockbuster<em> Jawan</em>. While accepting his award, Khan referred to his return to movies last year after a hiatus of four&nbsp;years.</p>

<p>"I think I have a little happiness from the audience this year because I worked (again) after a long time," he said to a packed theatre in Abu Dhabi where the IIFA awards were held over the weekend.&nbsp;<br />

He not only won the Best Actor award but also co-hosted the event in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, a city with a large Indian population.&nbsp;"I love awards, I'm greedy about awards," he announced. "I just want to tell you it's good to be back."</p>

<p>Khan's return to the big screen was Bollywood's biggest success story last year. He also starred in the spy film <em>Pathaan</em> which was a blockbuster, as was his last release of the year, <em>Dunki.&nbsp;</em></p>

<p>Shah Rukh Khan co-hosted the awards night with longtime collaborator and friend, filmmaker Karan Johar and <em>Dunki</em> co-star, actor Vicky Kaushal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Other Bollywood megastars also attended the event on Saturday, including Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol.<br />

Mukerji won the Best Actress award for the child-custody drama <em>Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway </em>while Vidhu Vinod Chopra won Best Director for <em>12th Fail</em>. Sandeep Reddy Vanga's <em>Animal </em>took home six awards, including Best Picture&nbsp;and Best Supporting Actor for Anil Kapoor. Bobby Deol took home the Best Villain IIFA award for <em>Animal</em>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bobby fought back tears as fans cheered him on. Fans were also heard chanting his name. “Thank you, thank you so much. I can hear it in your voices, how much you feel that I won this award. It makes a difference when I hear it in your voices that I should win this award. Thank you so much,” he said.</p>
