<p>Rahul Gandhi has said the idea of non-violence is under attack today in India.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Gandhi was making a speech at the University of California, Berkeley.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Gandhi is on a two-week tour to the US.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But, Gandhi added, the idea of of non-violence is the only idea that can take humanity forward.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&quot;Hatred,anger and violence can destroy us, the politics of polarisation is very dangerous,&quot; said Gandhi.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Gandhi also spoke about the 1984 Sikh riots which broke out after the assassination of his grandmother, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, by her Sikh bodyguards.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&quot;I am with them in their quest for justice,&quot; he said of the riot victims. &quot;Violence against anybody I strongly condemn,&quot; he added.&nbsp;</p>
