<p>Israeli spy chief David Barnea will be travelling to Doha on Sunday (Oct 27) to hold talks which will be aimed at restarting negotiations on the Gaza hostage release deal.</p>

<p>According to some analysts, Sinwar was the main obstacle in the agreement which will pave the way for the release of 97 hostages still held in Gaza.</p>

<p>Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly told lawmakers in a closed meeting that half of the 97 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza since October 7 have died.</p>

<p>“According to the information we have, half of the hostages in Gaza are alive,” he was quoted as saying by Army Radio.</p>

<p>Netanyahu held a meeting with the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee earlier on Sunday (Sep 22), in which he stressed he was not standing in the way of a hostage deal and instead blamed Hamas for demanding numerous revisions to the proposed ceasefire outline.</p>

<p>Netanyahu's statement comes at a time when families of hostages are increasingly accusing the Israeli PM of abandoning the captives under the pretext of tackling the threat in Lebanon.</p>

<p>“Netanyahu does not have the authority to abandon the captives under the guise of launching a war in the north,” the families said during a press conference held near the Defense Ministry headquarters in Tel Aviv.</p>

<p>The families also accused Netanyahu of “disregarding the lives of their relatives held in Gaza and choosing instead to escalate tensions on multiple fronts.”</p>

<p>Protesters have urged President Isaac Herzog to intervene and force Netanyahu government to start negotiations with Hamas.</p>

<p>Israel has proposed a framework for a new deal with the Hamas militants saying&nbsp;that it would end fighting in the Gaza Strip and&nbsp;offer&nbsp;safe passage out of the Palestinian&nbsp;enclave for the group's leader Yahya Sinwar and his associates if they release all hostages at once, according to a report by KAN, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC).&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the report, Israel has proposed that it would also release all Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli jails, demilitarise the Gaza Strip, and place a new system of governance in Gaza.</p>

<p>The report stated that a government point man on the hostages, Gal Hirsch, told the families of hostages that the proposal was presented in a meeting with US officials from the White House and State Department last week.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"This assessment is based on the location of where their bodies were found in relation to the strike's impact, performance analysis of the strike, intelligence findings, the results of the pathological reports, and the conclusions of the Forensic Medicine Institute," it added.</p>

<p>"This is a high-probability assessment based on all of the available information, but it is not possible to definitively determine the circumstances of their deaths," the military stated.</p>

<p>The soldiers secured the site and called down a chopper which was coming in from the sea. Israeli soldiers were seen escorting Kozlov and Jan towards the helicopter in the video.</p>

<p>The chopper took off after the hostages were rescued and exited the Gaza Strip where the hostages were sent to the Sheba Medical Center, near Tel Aviv, ending their eight-month-long ordeal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Because of the ongoing deadlock, Israel's war cabinet authorised the negotiating team on Thursday (April 25) to discuss a flexible approach to the truce with an Egyptian delegation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Egyptian delegation will reach Tel Aviv for additional talks on the matter on Friday (Apr&nbsp;26), said the Hebrew news sites.</p>

<p>The Israeli negotiators in the earlier round insisted that 40 living hostages were falling under the category of female, elderly or sick and if Hamas said that this wasn’t true, then it&nbsp;should agree to release hostages from categories, which are men and soldiers under the age of 50, to meet the benchmark of 40.</p>
