The UAE Space Agency on Sunday expanded upon its mission to explore an asteroid belt situated between Mars and Jupiter. Buoyed by the success of the Hope Mars orbiter, the agency said the mission will be named Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt (EMA) and launched on a spacecraft named MBR Explorer.

UAE is set to launch the first unmanned Arab space mission to Mars on July 14 from the Japanese island of Tanegashima. The Hope Mars probe is expected to reach the planet in February next year.
