A humanoid robot developed by China’s Beijing Innovation Centre of Humanoid Robotics has stunned the world by completing a 100-meter sprint in 9.39 seconds, surpassing Usain Bolt’s famous 9.58-second men’s world record.

The robot, named “Tianzhuo,” delivered the performance on Saturday, August 22, in China. Bolt set his 9.58-second record at the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin, a mark that has stood for more than 17 years.

Tianzhuo also competed against humanoid robots developed by Chinese robotics company Unitree and smartphone maker Honor.
