On Tuesday, in a court plea, Indian rapper and music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh's wife—Shalini Talwar—has accused him of having regular casual sex with multiple women while he was travelling, and never disclosing to the public that he was married to her, to further his sexual intents and illicit relationships.

 
Talwar filed a case of domestic violence against the artist, whose real name is Hirdesh Singh, at the Tis Hazari court in New Delhi. She has also sought ₹10 crore in compensation.

 
The rapper-singer has now reacted to his wife’s allegations through a lengthy statement which he has posted on Twitter in the form of a picture. In it, Singh wrote, “I am deeply pained and distressed by the false and malicious allegations levied against we and my family by any companion/wife of 20 years, Mrs. Shalini Talwar. The allegations are severely odious. I have never issued a public statement or press note in the past despite being subjected to harsh criticism for my lyrics, speculation on my health, &amp; negative media coverage in general. However, I see no merit in maintaining a studied silence this time because some of the allegations have been directed at my family — my old parents and younger sister — who have stood by me during some very difficult and trying times and comprise my world. The allegations are cynical and defaming in nature.”

 
“I have been associated with the industry for over 15 years and worked with artists and musicians across the country. Everyone is aware of my relationship with my wife, who has been an integral part of my crew for more than a decade now and always accompanied me to my shoots, events, and meetings. I strongly refute all the allegations but will not comment any further because the matter is sub-judice before the Court of Law. I have full faith in the judicial system of this country, and I am confident that the truth will be out soon,” he added.

Shalini Talwar, in her complaint, also accused the Indian rapper of locking her up for over 18 hours without &nbsp;food and forced her to quit her job.

In her 118-page complaint, Talwar has accused Honey Singh of engaging in extra-marital sex with multiple women. She has also provided details of the physical, verbal and emotional abuse that she had allegedly been subjected to by the rapper and his family.

Shalini Talwar, in her complaint, accused the Indian rapper of locking her up for over 18 hours without&nbsp; food and forced her to quit her job. "The respondent (Singh) broke the applicant as an individual, mentally and emotionally. The applicant, due to the continuous cruelty imposed on her, almost started identifying herself as a farm animal, shepherded from here to there while being treated cruelly," read the plea.

The complaint states that he “began having frequent casual sex with multiple women” while he was travelling and “to further his sexual intents and illicit relationships, never disclosed to the public ... that he was married”.&nbsp;

 
The complainant accused&nbsp;Yo Yo Honey Singh of trying to conceal his proclivities from the time they got married at a Delhi Gurudwara back in 2011.&nbsp;

She also accused him of engaging in substance abuse and having an affair with a Punjabi movie actress.

Taking cognizance of the complaint, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Tania Singh, issued a notice to Honey Singh to appear before her on August 28.&nbsp;

 
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate also passed interim orders restraining the rapper from disposing of the property he jointly owned with his wife as well as her ‘stridhan’ (dowry).

Rapper Honey Singh and producer Bhushan Kumar have been booked by the Punjab Police over vulgar and lewd lyrics in the singer's new song 'Makhna' 
 
The case has been registered at the Mataur police station in Punjab’s Mohali district. 
 
The duo was booked after a letter by the Punjab State Women's Commission asked the police to look into the rap number 'Makhna'.

The song, which was released last year in December, has gotten over 200 million views on YouTube since then.&nbsp; 
 
The duo was booked under sections 294 (punishment for obscene act or words in public) and 509 (words, gestures intended to insult woman) of the Indian Penal Code at a Mohali police station on Monday evening.&nbsp; 
 
They have also been charged under section 67 (punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and relevant section of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986. 
 
Mohali's Senior Superintendent of Police, Harcharan Singh Bhullar told a news agency about these developments and added, "The contents are objectionable," saying that both the rapper and the producer will be summoned soon. 
 
The Chairperson of Punjab Women Commission, Manisha Gulati said that she had written to the Director General of Police to register a case against the singer for using lyrics like "Main Hoon womaniser (I am a womaniser)". 
 
"The lyrics are indecent and have a degrading influence on society" she continued.&nbsp; 
 
"A legal action and an inquiry is required to be initiated by the police on the matter as the song readied by T-series chairman Bhushan Kumar and singers Honey Singh and Neha Kakkar uses vulgar words against women," she further added.
