<p>The Chandigarh Police that is investigating the incident of stalking of the daughter of an IAS officer by Vikas Barala, son of Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala, has said that the cameras that were placed along the route which the girl took were not functional.</p>

<p>Vikas Barala was arrested by the police on Saturday on <a href="http://www.wionews.com/south-asia/lucky-i-wasnt-raped-chandigarh-woman-stalked-allegedly-by-haryana-bjp-chiefs-son-18644" target="_blank">charges of stalking the IAS officer&#39;s daughter</a> but was later released on bail.</p>

<p>The Congress party has accused the BJP of hushing up the matter.</p>

<p>Congress party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, &quot;Now new things have come out that five out of seven CCTV cameras were non-functional. How have they suddenly become non-functional? We have lost an important piece of evidence.&quot;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has said that he will file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the case of attempted abduction of the girl by &quot;two drunk goons&quot;.</p>
