The majority mark is 46 seats. BJP's Nayab Singh Saini's government faced challenges from opposition parties like Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), who leveraged local issues, especially farmers' rights, to gain traction among voters. After winning in 2014 and 2019, the BJP is now aiming for a "hat-trick." Chief Minister Saini, who took over from Manohar Lal Khattar earlier this year, led the BJP’s campaign. Saini will continue as the CM if the party wins, BJP said earlier. Former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda is the frontrunner for the CM post and led the Congress campaign in Haryana, but party leader Kumari Selja has also expressed interest in the post.
