Indian captain Virat Kohli said today that he is <a href="http://www.wionews.com/sports/how-hardik-pandya-got-carried-away-comments-that-led-to-storm-and-show-cause-189240">waiting on the&nbsp;decision by the BCCI </a>on Hardik Pandya's match ban after the cricketer made inappropriate remarks in a TV show recently leading to a showcause notice being sent to him and cricketer KL Rahul who also appeared on the weekly TV show.

"We as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers don't align with those views, those were individual opinions. We are still waiting for a decision to be made, Indian captain Virat Kohli said ahead of the first one-day international against Australia at Sydney.

While appearing as a guest for a <a href="http://www.wionews.com/sports/bcci-issues-showcause-notice-against-hardik-pandya-k-l-rahul-for-comments-on-women-in-tv-show-189173">TV show Koffee with Karan, Pandya</a> made derogatory comments against women in which he said: ""When I lost my virginity, I came home and said, "Main karke aaya hai aaj (I did it today)."

When Johar asked Pandya why he didn't ask women's name at nightclubs?", Pandya replied that he didn't remember their names, instead, he added that "I like to watch and observe how they move. I'm little from the Black side so I need to see how they move."

The Committee of Administrators(CoA) chief Vinod Rai recommended a two-ODI ban on India players Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul for their controversial comments. On the show, Pandya boasted about hooking up with multiple women and also how open he has been about it with his parents.

"Diana has sought legal opinion whether the duo can be banned. So, obviously, a decision will be taken once she gives her nod. As far as I am concerned, the comments were crass, in bad taste and unacceptable," Rai said.&nbsp;

"From the Indian cricket team's point of view, this changes nothing in our beliefs in the change room, it does nothing to the spirit we have have been able to create. Combinations will have to be thought of once the decision comes out," Kohli said even as Indian team gets set to take on Australia on Saturday in the 3-match one-day series.

Kohli added that the "immediate focus" of the team was to prepare for the World Cup. "We understand where we need to head as a team," the Indian captain said.

Reports said Edulji has sought the opinion of BCCI acting president CK Khanna, acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary and treasurer Anirudh Chaudhry on the issue.

Cricketer Hardik Pandya has told the BCCI that he is "sincerely regretful" for the sexist comments he made on a television show.&nbsp;

"I made an appearance on the chat show where I have made certain statements without realising that these could be disrespectful and offend sensitivities of viewers for which I am sincerely regretful," PTI quoted Pandya as saying in his statement to the Board of Control for Cricket &nbsp;in India.&nbsp;

Pandya made his comments on the Koffee with Karan show — <a href="http://www.wionews.com/sports/how-hardik-pandya-got-carried-away-comments-that-led-to-storm-and-show-cause-189240">he talked about his success with women and the trouble he had with remembering their names</a> — hosted by film director Karan Johar. Pandya's teammate KL Rahul had been on the show too but he was more restrained in his comments.&nbsp;

Both were show caused by the BCCI on Wednesday and given 24 hours to reply. Rahul has not yet responded.&nbsp;

"I would like to assure you that there was no malice or any sort of ill-intent on my part to offend anyone or portray any section of the society in bad light," Pandya said in his statement.&nbsp;

Pandya added that he would exercise both "discretion" and "prudence" in the future.&nbsp;

"I made these statements in the flow of the show and had not comprehended the extent to which my statements would be found offensive. Rest assured I hold the BCCI in highest regard and will exercise complete discretion and prudence to ensure that such incidents are never repeated in future," he said in his statement.&nbsp;

He did not however apologise. Pandya had however apologised earlier on Twitter.&nbsp;
