According to a report in The Jerusalem Post, having named a fictional Mossad operative, the channels doubled down and went as far as tracing the origins of the shadowy, Indian-sounding Israeli assassin.&nbsp;

Some reports stated that Nakesh was "a former IDF officer with experience in specialised operations" and had served in a "secret intelligence unit".

The Turkish media was slow to react to the prank but eventually did realise their mistake and scrubbed off all&nbsp;the mentions of the mythical assassin.

Later, two agents placed the explosive devices in the IRGC&nbsp;guesthouse in north Tehran where Haniyeh was staying. CCTV footage showed the agents entering and exiting multiple rooms within minutes, according to officials.&nbsp;

The agents then snuck out of Iran but still had a source in Tehran. After confirmation that Haniyeh was in one of the rooms, the explosive was detonated from abroad.&nbsp;

The incident has led to fissures within the IRGC, with different sectors accusing each other of the failure,
