This comes after former United States president and Republican nominee&nbsp;Donald Trump made claims during the presidential&nbsp;debate with Vice President and Democratic hopeful Kamala Harris, saying that illegal immigrants from Haiti were eating pets in a&nbsp;city in the US state of Ohio.

Musk, who has endorsed Trump ahead of the US presidential election, shared the post after several media outlets were fact-checking claims made by the former president.&nbsp;

The woman, named Rebekah Faidia on TikTok, also speaks about the 'voodoo' practices in Haiti, describing them as "truly demonic". She said that her father immigrated from Haiti to the US in the late 1960s as a teenager.&nbsp;

Noting that the majority of the island does practice voodoo, she said, "My father and I are now estranged, but I did know him in my very, very young years. When he immigrated, he was one person, and they weren't sending thousands of Haitians to one area...he said that the majority of the island does practice voodoo."&nbsp;

She further said that Haitians eat cats for two reasons, survival and animal sacrifices for the religion.&nbsp;

"This is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere. You can't just go to a food bank like you can here (in the US)... People in the US have a really hard time imagining that type of thing, but it is true. Second, they do animal sacrifices for their religion, voodoo. They make these animal sacrifices to these gods for different reasons," she said.&nbsp;

Faidia,&nbsp;defending the former president, said, "It is not racist" to acknowledge the problem, adding that everyone just wants to joke about Trump saying this rather than actually checking if this is real.&nbsp;

"You all just want to joke about Trump and say that he's crazy for saying that this is happening instead of actually checking at all to see if this is happening," she added.&nbsp;

This comes after Trump,&nbsp;during his debate with Democratic nominee&nbsp;Harris, claimed&nbsp;that illegal Haitian immigrants in Ohio were "eating dogs and pets".&nbsp;

Right after saying this, he was immediately fact-checked by the debate moderators, who said that there was no proof of that.&nbsp;

According to a report released by the body, six months into the year, WFP's response plan in the Caribbean nation is only 16 per cent funded with the organisation requiring $121 million till the end of 2023 to make good on its promises. If the funding remains low, WFP warned it will be unable to assist 750,000 of the 2.3 million Haitians it had aimed to reach. “It’s tragic being unable to reach some of the most vulnerable Haitians this month. This could not come at a worse time, as Haitians face a multilayered humanitarian crisis, their lives and livelihoods upended by violence, insecurity, economic turmoil and climate shocks. Unless we receive immediate funding, further devastating cuts cannot be ruled out,” said the WFP’s country director for Haiti, Jean-Martin Bauer. Surging food inflation has raised the cost of feeding each person substantially, making the already-tough task, even more difficult for WFP. A UK watchdog has accused the government of not listening to the victims of the "sex for aid" scandal and failing to tackle abuse in the humanitarian sector.

The case pertains to a revelation that Oxfam employees sexually exploited victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake, following which the British government in 2018 launched an initiative to tackle sexual exploitation in the aid sector.

The government held an international safeguarding summit to tackle the problem.

The Independent Commission for Aid Impact (Icai) said the government failed to tackle the issue as it was adopting a "top-down" approach.

In the report, the agency said the government needed to listen to and learn from recipients of aid who remained reluctant to report abuse allegations.

"The UK has played an important role in galvanising international action on protecting people from sexual exploitation and abuse in humanitarian crises," The Guardian quoted Icai’s commissioner, Sir Hugh Bayley, as saying.

Citing a survey done in Uganda, Icai said it found people were hesitant to report cases to agencies because of long investigation processes and concerns about corruption and not being believed.

Mechanisms for dealing with complaints were often overwhelmed because they dealt with a broad range of safeguarding issues beyond sexual exploitation, Icai added.

Stephanie Draper, chief executive of Bond, a network of charities and NGOs in the UK, told the Guardian that FCDO had "taken important steps" but progress was being held back by a lack of data "around incidents of sexual exploitation and abuse and what works where and how to address and prevent it".
