As several pharmaceutical companies rush to test their vaccines and other products in relation to the new variant, British drugmaker GSK has claimed that its antibody-based COVID-19 therapy is effective against the new Omicron variant of coronavirus.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorised a monoclonal antibody drug against COVID-19, developed by GlaxoSmithKline and Vir, which claims to reduce hospitalisation and death among Coronavirus patients by 85 per cent and is also effective against the variants.
