<p>According to the hospital’s official statement, Mazonakis was formally pronounced dead at 5:40 p.m.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p>“On 9/9/2026 at 4:45 p.m., Giorgos Mazonakis, born in 1972, was transferred by EKAB ambulance without spontaneous breathing and without a pulse,” the hospital said, as per Greek city time.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>According to a Greek media report, Mazonakis visited the stem cell clinic on Karneadou Street in Kolonaki for a scheduled medical treatment, and he suffered cardiac arrest after an intravenous catheter was inserted. &nbsp;He was taken to the hospital with continued CPR. He rose to fame after PolyGram, now Universal Music, signed him and released his debut album in 1993.&nbsp;</p>
