The latest government building to get a saffron coat is Gomti Nagar police station, which is one of the poshest areas in the state capital. A temple is yet to be built in the area as well.&nbsp;

From Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath&#39;s office to various other spots, the colour has become a defining feature of the state.

The state has been draped in saffron hue ever since the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government came into the power.

Last month, the boundary wall of Haj Committee&#39;s office in Lucknow was painted in saffron colour. The wall was later repainted by the Haj committee, prompting the Uttar Pradesh government to demand a clarification from the UP Haj Committee.&nbsp;

Last year, the chief minister flagged off a fleet of 50 buses that were painted saffron. The education department had distributed saffron school bags in government primary schools, to replace the ones that featured former CM Akhilesh Yadav&rsquo;s photograph.&nbsp;

Booklets that were distributed to mark 100 days and six months of the Adityanath government were saffron in colour as well. The information diary of the state government, which contains details of various officials, is also saffron.

Earlier this month, a nearly 80-year-old police station in Lucknow was painted saffron.

Sir Cliff Richard, pop icon since the 1950s sent some love to India on February 5 when Lucknow city painted a wall remembering him.&nbsp;

Born in India as Harry Rodger Webb in the city of Lucknow in 1940, Sir Cliff Richard as popularly known,&nbsp;welcomed the gesture.

He thanked the city for remembering him and wrote a sweet message for those behind the mural: &quot;It&rsquo;s 7 decades since I was born in Lucknow, India and I can&rsquo;t believe that they would honour me there in such a public way.

Yogesh Saini, founder of Delhi Street Art that was behind the murals, said that they had honoured the people who were born in Lucknow and painted six murals that included one of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said,&nbsp;&quot;After we painted the Richard mural, I went on Twitter to see if I could tag him. While Sir Richards is not on Twitter, I tagged a fan account that looked fairly official. Then I forgot all about it. This was three days ago.&quot;

Saini got a surprise on Tuesday when he received a message on his Facebook profile by a person who introduced himself as the owner of a radio station in New Zealand. This radio station owner turned out to be a friend of Richard who then shared the Delhi Street Art post with him.&nbsp;

Saini narrated:&nbsp;&quot;This person told me that Sir Richard liked the post and had reacted to it. He then sent me a link to his Facebook account on which he had thanked Lucknow. I was super stoked that Sir Richard took notice and sent a personal note of appreciation! It shows that deep down he is a humble, down-to-earth person!&quot;

Richard was born at the King George&#39;s Medical College hospital in 1940. His paternal grandfather lived in the colony near Sibtainabad Imambara in Hazratganj.
