The Godrej Group, one of India's biggest and oldest industrial houses, is headed for a split.

As per media reports, brothers Adi and Nadir Godrej will head the listed companies, while cousin Jamshyd will get the control of unlisted firms and&nbsp;the group's huge land holdings.

"To preserve mutual respect, goodwill, amity and harmony and to manage diverse expectations and varied strategic directions desired by each Family Branch, the Family Branches have agreed upon a settlement arrangement amongst the Family Branches," read the regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The Mumbai-based conglomerate, established in 1897 by Ardeshir and Pirojshah Godrej,&nbsp;also said that the Godrej trademark will be "equally owned and shared by both family groups."

The shareholdings and directorships will need to be realigned for the approval of India's antitrust body, the Competition Commission of India.

The family agreement will come into effect after the regulatory approval is granted.

Godrej Industries Limited is the holding company of the Godrej Group, with significant stakes in Godrej Consumer Products, Godrej Properties, Godrej Agrovet and Astec Lifesciences.

Godrej Industries Limited has a 64.89 per cent stake in Godrej Agrovet, a 23.74 per cent stake in Godrej Consumer Products and owns nearly 48 per cent of the&nbsp;stake in Godrej Properties.

The holding company as well as its subsidiaries are listed on the stock exchange and will be led by&nbsp;Adi and Nadir.&nbsp;

Agro-business company Godrej Agrovet owns over 60 per cent of Astec Lifesciences, whose public shareholders will now receive an open offer from the family members&nbsp;of Adi and Nadir Godrej.

Godrej Consumer Products is the biggest among the listed firms, with a market capitalisation of about $15 billion. The company sells&nbsp;popular products ranging from home care&nbsp;to personal hygiene.

The privately-owned Godrej &amp; Boyce and its affiliates, which&nbsp;will be led by Jamshyd, have a presence across sectors like aerospace, aviation, defence, energy and security, among others.

But despite washing our hands fervently, wearing a mask and practising social distancing, there are certain things one can’t avoid coming in contact with - such as grocery that you buy, currency notes that you exchange or stationery items that children may need. And for office-goers, personal items like phone, wallet, keys, and even shoes do come in contact with different surfaces. And this increases the risk of getting infected.

So, how can you minimise the danger? Numerous companies have launched disinfection systems, and today, I am going to review one from Godrej; it's called Viroshield 4.0. It looks like a mini refrigerator, but is it good enough? Let’s find out.

Godrej Viroshield 4.0 review: How good is the disinfection device?

Realty firm Godrej Properties Friday announced the acquisition of iconic R K Studios' land in Chembur, Mumbai, where it would develop mixed-use project housing luxury flats and retail space. 
 
Godrej Properties, part of Godrej group, said it has added a new project in Chembur, Mumbai. 
 
"Spread across 2.2 acres, this project will offer approximately 33,000 square meters (about 0.35 million square feet) of saleable area comprising modern residential apartments of various configurations as well as a luxury retail experience," the company said in a statement.&nbsp;The company did not disclose the deal value. 
 
Godrej Properties Executive Chairman Pirojsha Godrej said the company has added this iconic site in Chembur to its development portfolio. 
"This fits well with our strategy of deepening our presence in key locations across India's leading cities. We will seek to ensure we celebrate the remarkable legacy of this site with the goal of delivering an outstanding lifestyle for its residents," he added. 
 
Randhir Kapoor of R K Studios said, "This property in Chembur has been of tremendous significance to my family over the many decades that R K Studios has operated from there." 
 
"We...Have chosen Godrej Properties to script a new chapter for this location and build upon its rich history," said Kapoor, the eldest son of late actor Raj Kapoor.

The site is strategically located on the main Sion-Panvel Road and offers an extremely well developed social and civic infrastructure with multiple schools, hospitals, retail malls, residential, and commercial spaces in close proximity, the realty firm said.
