Speaking to the Iranian media regarding the attack, the country's Oil Minister Javad Owji said, "The enemy’s plan was to completely disrupt the flow of gas in winter to several main cities and provinces in our country."

Even though such attacks rarely happen in Iran,&nbsp;terrorists in the country had claimed in 2017 that two pipelines were blown by them in co-ordinated attacks which were carried out in western Khuzestan province of Iran. 
 
Five people, who were accused of having links with Israel's Mossad intelligence service, were executed by Iran in December as part of a decades-long shadow war in which Tehran has accused Israel of carrying out attacks on its nuclear and missile efforts. 
 
As per reports, Israel has been targeting Iran's military and nuclear sites for a long time and has also carried out the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists and commanders. 
 
Cyberattacks have also been waged by Israel to disable servers which belong to the oil ministry and create chaos at gas stations nationwide.

Pakistan's Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Malik said that the government cannot provide 24x7 gas supply throughout the country, reported The News International as the issue of load-shedding has become a daily problem amid the deteriorating economic crisis.

"We cannot provide gas 24 hours as our reserves have dropped," he stated, further adding the officials would ensure that the gas load-shedding ends during ‘sehri’ and ‘iftar’.

Malik further said that he will be visiting Karachi soon to resolve the issue of gas supply which people are facing. "The gas bill of the rich and poor has been separated; rich people will have to pay more now," said the minister.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier directed the officials to ensure that people get uninterrupted supply of gas, stating that the officials will supervise the process and they will not tolerate any negligence, said the report.

The minister gave the statement as the suspension of supplies to industries and power plants was announced by the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) last week amid low supply of gas.

SSGC stated that there has been a decrease in the volume of gas in pipelines due to reduced supply. Reacting to the statement of SSGC, the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) called for immediate action by the government over the gas supply shortage which people in Karachi are facing.

Without gas, industries cannot function and will be forced to stop production, said KCCI.

US officials on Tuesday said that they had been negotiating with global suppliers for additional volumes of non-Russian fuel.

“We're in discussions with major natural gas producers around the globe, to understand their capacity and willingness to temporarily surge natural gas supply and to allocate these volumes to European buyers,” a senior administration official was quoted as saying by Reuters.

“We've been working to identify additional volumes of non-Russian natural gas from various areas of the world from North Africa and the Middle East to Asia and the United States," the official said, adding that European energy stockpiles are significantly lower due to reduced Russian supplies over the last few months.

Putin has reportedly deployed around 100,000 troops near Ukraine's border for weeks, sparking a diplomatic crisis for Europe and the United States.

"All problems in Western Europe have been created by themselves and there is no need to blame Gazprom for this. It is better to look in the mirror."&nbsp;

Western countries have for weeks accused Russia of limiting gas deliveries to put pressure on Europe amid tensions over the Ukraine conflict and to push through the controversial Nord Stream 2 pipeline set to ship Russian gas to Germany.
