Sophie was just a normal British teenager when she first appeared on the show in 2011. That’s when the show started. As the show rose to popularity, so did she with her character.

As it gave her newfound stardom, she revealed that all the negative comments she got for her character on social media caused a decline in her mental health. She said, "I would just believe it. I would say, ‘Yeah, I am spotty. I am fat. I am a bad actress.' I would just believe it. I would get [the costume department] to tighten my corset a lot.”
