Authorities had "seized 6.9 million euros, $351,770 and 5.7 million Sudanese pounds at (Bashir's) home which he acquired and used illegally," the judge said.

Asked about the source, Bashir, 75, admitted to receiving funds from Saudi royals.&nbsp;

"My office manager... received a call from the office of <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/worlds-costliest-painting-salvator-mundi-hosted-on-saudi-prince-mohammed-bin-salmans-yacht-report-226096">Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman</a> saying he has a 'message' that will be sent on a private jet," Bashir said during the trial.

"We were told that the crown prince did not want his name to appear (linked to the transaction), and if the funds were deposited with Sudan's bank or the finance ministry, the source would have to be identified," he said.&nbsp;

The judge said illegal acquisition of wealth was punishable by up to 10 years in jail, while illicit use of foreign funds carried up to three years.

An investigator had previously told the court that Bashir received $90 million in cash from Saudi royals.&nbsp;

The trial was adjourned until September 7, said a correspondent who attended the session.

Bashir was ousted in April after mass protests against his three-decade rule rocked Sudan for months.

Sudan has embarked on a transition to civilian rule following a power-sharing deal signed on August 17 by protest leaders and the generals who ousted Bashir.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Financial Services, said: "Ripple effect from a weak global market while premium valuation and the slow economy is hurting the market.

&nbsp;A continuous exchange of words between US and Tehran regarding the oil tanker attack, progress of US-China trade war, Fed policy outcome on 19th June and progress of monsoon will be closely watched by the investors."

Global markets were spooked last week after two oil tankers were attacked in the Gulf of Oman, leading to ratcheting up of tensions in the Middle East.

Crude oil prices, movement of rupee against the dollar and foreign fund investment trend would be crucial for the markets, experts added.

"Negative news flow from the finance sector on loan repayment is dampening the investors' sentiment which can be a trigger for a bigger correction before the budget session," said Romesh Tiwari, Head of Research, capitalism.

The rupee opened at 70.36 the interbank forex market, then gained further ground to touch 69.44 per dollar, displaying gains of 79 paise against the greenback.

On Friday, the rupee had settled at 70.23 against the US dollar.

Foreign funds pulled out Rs 1,057.82 crore in the capital markets on a net basis Thursday, provisional data showed.

The benchmark BSE Sensex was trading with gains of 718.11 points, or 1.89 per cent, to quote at 38,657.65, while the NSE Nifty was trading at 11,615, up 207.85 points, or 1.82 per cent.

Meanwhile, Brent crude, the global benchmark, was trading at 73.28 per barrel higher by 1.48 per cent.

In a similar fashion, the NSE Nifty fell 50.65 points or 0.47 per cent to 10,717.70.

Sectoral indices led by power, realty, oil and gas, banking, PSU, consumer durables and infrastructure were trading in the negative zone, falling up to 0.93 per cent.

Major losers were power grid, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, Yes Bank, RIL, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, HDFC Ltd, Asian Paints, M&M, Hero Motorocorp, Bajaj Auto, SBI, NTPC, Wipro and Bharti Airtel, falling up to 2.05 per cent.

Sensex down 137 points in early trade on weak Asian cues

The BSE Sensex on Friday soared to the life-time high of 34,175.21 and the NSE Nifty scaled the historic 10,562.80 mark in late morning trade as banking, metal and realty stocks advanced following continuous foreign fund inflows and increased buying by domestic institutional investors.

The 30-share Sensex spurted 205 points, or 0.60 per cent, to all-time high of 34,175.21 points, breaching its previous record high (intra-day) of 34,137.97 scaled on December 27.

The gauge had gained 176.26 points in the previous session.

Sentiment got a lift following an improvement in liquidity in the market on sustained inflows by foreign funds amid the government moving forward on its bank recapitalisation programme, brokers said.

The finance ministry yesterday sought Parliament&#39;s nod for extra expenditure of Rs 80,000 crore towards recapitalisation of bad loans-saddled public sector banks through bonds.

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net of Rs 212.05 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) made purchases worth a Rs 325.24 crore on Thursday, as per provisional exchange data.

Banking behemoth SBI rallied 0.83 per cent while Punjab National Bank gained 1.50 per cent. Bank of Baroda also gained 0.67 per cent. Private peers ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank and Kotak Bank too rose by up to 3.15 per cent.

All the sectoral indices led by metal, consumer durables and bank, trading in the positive zone with gains of up to 1.41 per cent.

The 50-share Nifty also hit a new high of 10,562.80 by soaring 58 points, or 0.54 per cent. It also cracked previous record (intra-day) of 10,552.40 points reached on December 27.

Some of these organisations are leading academic institutions like IIT Delhi, Delhi University, JNU, ICAR, IGNOU according&nbsp;to a &nbsp;PTI report.

The Supreme Court Bar Association has also been barred by the government.&nbsp;

The Union Home Ministry has cancelled the organisations&#39;&nbsp;registration under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 2010 (FCRA).

The registrations have been cancelled after the organisations failed to file their annual returns for five consecutive years (2010-11 to 2014-15) even after repeated reminders.&nbsp;

The registered organisations&nbsp;have violated the law according to which they need to submit the details of their income and expenditure to the government.

Organisations are not allowed to receive foreign funds until they are registered with the FCRA.&nbsp;
