<p>After a string of leaks and rumours, OnePlus has finally unveiled its much-awaited OnePlus 5 smartphone. The new flagship phone comes in two variants - Slate Gray (64GB) and Midnight Black (128GB). The phone is priced at $479 onwards.</p>

<p>The OnePlus 5 is claimed to feature the highest resolution dual camera on the planet. It includes a 16 megapixel dual camera with dual LED flash at the back, and a 16 megapixel front camera.</p>

According to the company, its &ldquo;dual-camera technology lets you focus on your subject, progressively blurring the background for a gentle, yet powerful effect.&rdquo; Also, focusing on the OnePlus 5 is 40 per cent faster than the OnePlus 3T.</p>

<p>At 7.25 mm, the OnePlus 5 is the thinnest OnePlus flagship, yet its battery has been improved by 20 per cent over the last-generation OnePlus 3T.</p>

<p>Running OxygenOS, which is built on Android Nougat, the OnePlus 5 is powered by Qualcomm&rsquo;s Snapdragon 835 chipset.</p>

<p>Other features of the phone include a 5.5-inch full HD display, 3300 mAh battery with the company&rsquo;s proprietary Dash Charging, Adreno 540 GPU, dual nano-SIM slot and a bottom-facing speaker.</p>

As expected, the company is not naming its 2017 flagship OnePlus 4 as the number four is considered to be unlucky in China. Nevertheless, it will be the fifth flagship smartphone from the company after OnePlus One, OnePlus 2, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.</p>

<p>The phone is scheduled to be launched this summer, but the company has not shared the exact date of launch as yet. We, however, expect it to come by June.</p>
