The two-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to investigate the Aliganj fire tragedy in Lucknow will be led by Amrit Abhijat, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs, and will include Praveen Kumar, Additional Director General of Police, Lucknow Zone.

The massive blaze at the animation centre in the Purania locality of Aliganj in Lucknow sparked panic and a massive rescue operation. Fourteen fire tenders, including a hydraulic platform vehicle, were deployed to control the blaze that was reported at around 3 pm from the building.
