The Indonesian volcano which caused a tsunami that killed more than 400 people last week lost more than two-thirds of its height following the eruption which triggered the killer waves.

A 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit the area around Europe's most active volcano Mount Etna overnight, injuring four people, damaging old buildings and forcing the closure of part of a highway running along the sea, Italian civil protection authorities said Wednesday.

It is the second time the volcano has erupted this year, setting off loud explosions and spewing ash nearly four miles into the sky.
