A victim said the machine cannot trace their thumb impression because of wrinkles on their fingers.

&quot;It would be good if I received help in some way. I do not have an Aadhaar card so, I am being deprived of facilities. I do not have documents and the machine cannot trace my fingerprints. I have no resources. This is the only place I can be. I am not receiving any pension,&quot; Veervati, the victim, said.

Senior citizens aged between 60 to 79 years who are below poverty line are entitled to a monthly pension of Rs 400, while those above 80 years get Rs 500 per month.

However, Bareilly&#39;s social-welfare officer, Ashok Dixit said there are many people who do not have any identity proof.

&quot;If a person applies online for pension he will be asked for Aadhaar no. Free food and shelter is provided to such people. Aadhaar can be made only if we have their details,&quot; he added.

A recently filed affidavit by the Uttar Pradesh government in the Supreme Court stated that the state is fully committed to implementing provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act 2007 and is providing old age pension and implementing various welfare programmes for elderly citizens.&nbsp;

Maoists in Chhattisgarh were able to change old Rs 500&nbsp;and 1,000 notes after demonetisation, ANI has reported.&nbsp;

Police said the Maoists were able change&nbsp;the old notes by putting pressure on villagers and contractors in naxal areas.&nbsp;

ANI reported that naxals in Abujhmadh had been able to change old notes worth Rs 2 lakh.&nbsp;

The police had got that information from documents recovered after the Naryanpur encounter mentioned above.&nbsp;

Pakistani police on Wednesday found 15 bullet-ridden bodies of kidnap victims near the border with Iran, a favoured route for human traffickers taking workers illegally to Europe.

The bodies were found abandoned in a mountainous region of Buleda, in Baluchistan province, 600 km (370 miles) south of the provincial capital of Quetta, district commissioner Bashir Ahmad Bangalzai told Reuters.

He said documents and other belongings found on the bodies suggested that they were en route to Iran illegally.

Human smuggling is big business in Pakistan and other poor South Asian countries. There have been instances of workers being killed in border areas, or sometimes dying during road or sea travel.

It was not clear what prompted the killings, said Bangalzai. He said all 15 came from Pakistan&rsquo;s eastern province of Punjab.

&ldquo;We&rsquo;re getting in contact with their families,&rdquo; he said.

A police official said all 15 were reported to have been kidnapped on Tuesday.

No one has claimed responsibility.

Violence-plagued Baluchistan, which also borders Afghanistan, has long been home to separatist groups seeking a greater share of regional resources and Islamist militants linked to al Qaeda, the Taliban, and Islamic State.

The violence has raised concerns about security for projects in the $57 billion China Pakistan Economic Corridor, a planned transport and energy link from western China to Pakistan&rsquo;s southern deep-water port of Gwadar.
