<p>After a series of incidents disclosing medical negligence, a new case has revealed that a Gurugram hospital charged an exorbitant amount for dengue cure from parents of a child who died of the disease.</p>

<p>A complaint has been filed at the Sadar Police station levelling allegations against the Medanta hospital in Gurugram.</p>

<p>The parents have accused the hospital of&nbsp;imposing a huge bill penalty on them.&nbsp;</p>

<p>They had admitted their child in the hospital for curing dengue. The child, however, succumbed to the disease.</p>

<p>The Gurugram police PRO has said that an investigation into the matter is underway.</p>

<p>The father of the deceased child has said that the hospital had looted them in the name of the treatment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He said that his child was there in the hospital for 21 days. The hospital handed them a bill of Rs 15.88 lakh.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He said they had to request people for money&nbsp;to pay the bill.</p>

<p>He added that the doctors pushed him to shift the child to a Government hospital after they felt that the child can no longer be kept in the hospital.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He said, &quot;&nbsp;When the doctors at Medanta felt that the child&#39;s condition is such that he can no longer be kept there, then they pushed us to shift him to a government hospital, so we shifted him there&quot;</p>
