<p>People's Democratic Party leader Naeem Akhtar has hinted on introducing a new law in Jammu and Kashmir for punishing rape convicts of minors.</p>

<p>He said that the new law will give a death penalty to the people who rape minors.</p>

<p>He said " I want justice for the eight-year-old at the earliest. This government will soon bring a law in the state under which people who rape minors will be given death penalty. Entire nation has come with her."</p>

<p>The PDP minister's proposal has come in the wake of the brutal rape and murder of the eight-year-old in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The eight-year-old was allegedly&nbsp;gang-raped by a group of men who held her in captive in a small temple&nbsp;for several days. The accused drugged her and repeatedly gang-raped&nbsp;her for days before finally killing&nbsp;her with a rock.</p>

<p>A day before&nbsp;Union minister Maneka Gandhi also proposed of introducing a&nbsp;death penalty for children before the age of 12 years.&nbsp;</p>
