In an unprecedented move, the four seniormost judges of the Supreme Court (after the Chief Justice of India) had called a <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/in-a-first-4-supreme-court-judges-speak-on-corruption-29314" target="_blank">press conference</a> on Friday.&nbsp;

The four judges -- Justices Jasti Chelameswar, Ranjan Gogoi, Madan B Lokur and Kurian Joseph -- raised a litany of problems, including the assigning of cases, allegedly afflicting the country&#39;s highest court.&nbsp;

The judges said they had met Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra but had failed to get their point across, which is why they were taking recourse to the press conference.&nbsp;

They also released a letter written by them to the CJI.&nbsp;

The judges however did not mention any specifics when questioned by reporters.&nbsp;

Their press conference however, considering that it is unprecedented -- nothing of the sort has ever happened before -- has been called a &quot;virtual revolt&quot;.&nbsp;

Two of the four judges however have backed down since their press conference.&nbsp;

On Saturday, Justice Ranjan Gogoi said &quot;there is no crisis&quot; in the Supreme Court. And before that, Justice Lokur had said there was no need for outside intervention.&nbsp;

The Bar Council will be meeting all the other judges of the Supreme Court through the day, and has been conducting what has been described as &quot;hectic parlaying&quot;, to try and resolve the crisis.&nbsp;
