<p>The sentencing was deferred again, for the second time in two days, and the judge will now pronounce the verict on Friday, January 5.</p>

<p>Lalu and 15 others were convicted on December 23 by the special CBI court.</p>

<p>The case pertains to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 84.5 lakh from the Deoghar district (now in Jharkhand) treasury in the 90s when Lalu was the Bihar chief minister.</p>

<p>The CBI court had acquitted another former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra and five others in a similar case.</p>

<p>Lalu was the chief minister of then undivided Bihar from 1990 to 1997.</p>

<p>The trial was completed on December 13 in the CBI court and 10 days later he was convicted.</p>
