Starting the year on a high note with Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter, Akshay Oberoi is enjoying his time on the screen. Akshay last featured in Broken News season 2 and opened up on how this role differed from anything he’d done before. Calling every character he’d ever portrayed different from another, Akshay said that each character in any project has their own circumstances which make them look and sound different.&nbsp;

“I had a tough time recognising myself on screen when we went to the press screening the other night because, you know, he had a goatee and glasses and his hair was curled. I don't know how else to answer that because everybody is different and if my job is to portray a human being as truthfully as possible, it better be different than the past,” explained Akshay on experimenting with his onscreen characters.&nbsp;

<h2>On working with Jaideep, Sonali in Broken News season 2</h2>

Broken News season 2 offered Akshay a space to thrive with actors like Sonali Bendre, Jaideep Ahlawat and others. On his camaraderie with such stellar actors, Akshay reflected that it was a “fun set”. He said, “No matter how big or small a star you are, 99% of all actors try to create a camaraderie on set to make the work smooth.”

“They're all professional working actors who’ve been in this industry for years. Jaideep Ahlawat, Sonali Bendre, and Shriya Pilgaonkar – they’re all people who’ve been around the block. They get that filmmaking is cricket and not tennis.”

Akshay showered praise on all actors who were already a team before he even joined them in season 2 and added, “I fit right in because they allowed me to fit right in.”

In his role as Ranjith Sabarwal, who leads one of the rival news channels in Broken News season 2, Akshay denies having any commonality with his character and said, “Not at all. Not even a little bit. The only commonality between me and him is that I grew up, I was born and brought up in America, and he has studied extensively in America. So, the only thing common would be that both of us would probably understand America more than most people do. But apart from that, nothing else.”

After finding success with Broken News season 2 which was released on May 3, Akshay Oberoi will next be seen in Legal season 3. He also has a film with Zee called Tu Chahiye. The film is directed by Ratna Sinha. He will also be seen in Jackie Shroff starrer 2014 and another with Ravi Kishan called Varchaswa. Akshay will also be seen in a Hindi remake of a South Indian film.&nbsp;
