<p>Jammu and Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik has said that the biometric details of Rohingya in the state will be collected in&nbsp;two months.</p>

<p>While addressing a press briefing Malik said, "Biometric details of Rohingyas will be collected within two months".</p>

<p>He also added that the state administration will try to create an atmosphere for holding talks with stakeholders in the next four to six months.</p>

<p>"I carry a mandate of (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi to reach out to the people, make yourself available to them, do their work, ensure development of the state and create an atmosphere in which talks can be held," Malik told reporters here.</p>

<p>"Stone-pelting and militancy-related incidents have stopped. The civic polls were also held peacefully. Our policy is bringing us good results," he said.</p>

<p>Earlier Union Minister Rajnath Singh had directed the state governments to identify Rohingyas and carry out biometrics.</p>

<p>More than 650,000 Rohingya Muslims fled Myanmar's Rakhine state in August 2017 after Myanmar's army launched a massive crackdown in its northern state. India and Bangladesh are known to have given shelter to a large number of Rohingya refugees.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) had also sought immediate deportation of illegally settled Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals in Jammu and Kashmir.</p>
