<p>On Sunday, the Central Reserve Paramilitary Force (CRPF) celebrated Valour Day&nbsp;to commemorate the battle of &quot;Sardar Post&#39;&#39;, which took place on the Gujarat-Pakistan border&nbsp;in 1965. Present at the event, Home Minister Rajnath Singh launched a web portal&nbsp;&ldquo;Bharat ke Veer&rdquo;, or &quot;Bravehearts of India&quot; in English, for the welfare of the Central Armed Police Force.</p>

<p>The Bharat ke Veer portal enables the general public to donate money towards the families of martyrs of CRPF. The portal will both work as a website and as a mobile application for ease of access. People can donate up to Rs 15 lakh (about $23,250) via the website.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This idea was seeded by the Bollywood actor&nbsp;Akshay Kumar. Commenting on his idea he said, &ldquo;I am a soldier&#39;s son myself. While watching a documentary film, an idea came to mind that a website should be there for people who want to donate to the &#39;next of kin&#39;&nbsp;of the Central Armed Police Force and paramilitary forces soldiers. As I could donate to the soldiers&#39; families, many people also showed their eagerness to donate money, but didn&rsquo;t know how to go ahead. I think by this website anyone from anywhere now can donate to our soldiers.&rdquo;</p>
