In addition, they receive a share from logo sponsorships as well as three&nbsp;percent of the revenues the PCB generates from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

This year, players' share of ICC revenue comes to approximately 1.53 million rupees each. However, payment delays have led to huge&nbsp;concerns. In addition, the report cites&nbsp;that the PCB has attributed the delay to administrative issues and pending revenue from various sources.

"The PCB is spending a lot on the complete facelift of the three stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi for the ICC Champions Trophy, besides other cricket-related expenses. But the dues of players would be cleared this month," the source further said.

Meanwhile, in Gary Kirsten’s report submitted to the PCB, he mentioned how the lack of trust and backing in the dressing room and the non-cooperation of some players during the England T20Is and the T20 World Cup led to poor performances and shallow results.&nbsp;

Considering grand changes happening within the ICC and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), with Shah winning the race to head the apex body and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi assumed to replace Shah as ACC head, the return of this intercontinental competition is on the cards.

Per the report in the Cricbuzz, Shah, BCCI secretary, showed interest in bringing this competition back to the international calendar a couple of years ago; however, plenty of work needs to be done to make this a reality.&nbsp;

Damodar, Botswana Cricket head, also contesting for a place in the CEC from Associate Nations, was one of those involved to stage this competition nearly two decades ago.

However, per the new plan discussed, the Asian and African cricket boards aim to engage at multiple levels, with matches between the continents to be played in three stages - development (primarily at the under-19 level, seen as an investment), emerging, and pinnacle levels, with the latter involving current international players.

"That is the plan. We have yet to decide on the frequency - whether it will be annual or biennial. Much will depend on the calendar, the Future Tours Programme (FTP), and the international commitments of the players," Damodar continued.

“As I have said before, this is a knee-jerk reaction and you can not improve the standard by increasing or decreasing the pay of the cricketers,” Raja said, as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

It is to be noted that Pakistan crashed out of the T20 World Cup after losing two of the four matches played in the group stage.

Pakistan lost against the co-host USA and arch-rivals India while winning against Ireland and Canada in group stage of the tournament.

There are reports doing rounds of changes in PCB selection committee as well. The current selection panel was formed in aftermath of Pakistan not reaching last four stage of the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Most recently, Pakistan appointed new coaches as well which included former India coach Gary Kirsten taking charge of the limited-over side and former Australia pacer Jason Gillespie taking over Test side.

Per a report in Cricket Pakistan, the ICC’s anti-corruption officials and the security manager, who accompanied the team, kept a close watch on everyone. Besides, per the sources close to the information, none of the star players, including Babar, Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shadab Khan, ever got involved in ill activities.

<h2>‘Defamation case to follow’</h2>

Upon approaching the board, the officials said,&nbsp;

"We are fully aware of these negative comments. Criticism within the bounds of the game is acceptable, and there is no objection to it. However, baseless allegations like match-fixing cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.”

Moreover, when asked further on what steps the stakeholders take to curb such remarks, the official stated,&nbsp;

"PCB has no doubts, so why should we conduct an inquiry? Those who made the allegations should provide proof. We have instructed our legal department to issue notices to such individuals and demand evidence. If not provided, we will seek compensation for defamation. A new law in Punjab ensures that a decision will come within six months."
