Sudan's Defence Minister Awad Ibn Auf said on Friday (April 12) that he was stepping down as head of the country's transitional military council, a day after former president Omar al-Bashir was overthrown in a coup.

Sudan's National Intelligence and Security Service head, Salih Ghosh has resigned from his post, military rulers said on Saturday.

"The chief of the transitional military council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has accepted the resignation of... the chief of NISS," the transitional military council said.
