The union claims that these firings were illegal and came in retaliation for union activity and to discourage such activities.&nbsp;

As per US&nbsp;federal laws, retaliation against organising unions is illegal, and such complaints with NLRB can lead the fired workers with some pay, Bloomberg reports.&nbsp;

Currently, the Buffalo facility in New York is home to over 800 analysts with the software vision to train Tesla's Autopilot. Due to this, many employees at the factory have complained of excessive monitoring, including tracking keystrokes and even felt the pressure of not visiting the bathroom.&nbsp;

Workers at the factory are also seeking better pay and job security.&nbsp;

Tesla has not yet justified the firing, but reports claimed&nbsp;that the employees were warned about the technology usage in the workplace and asked to protect the "confidentiality, integrity and security of all Tesla Business Information."&nbsp;

According to media reports, last year around 200 employees who were doing the same Tesla Autopilot training work were fired in California.

This is not the first time, a complaint has been filed for the ill practices followed in the company.

In September 2019, a US judge found the company guilty of several illegal anti-union practices, including letting security guards harass employees who were handing out the union leaflets.

Tesla fires dozens of employees a day after union announcement in New York: Report

Tesla&nbsp;Inc said on Tuesday it will remove ultrasonic sensors from its vehicles starting this month, as it moves ahead with using only cameras in its safety and driver-assistant features.

Tesla&nbsp;vehicles now have 12 ultrasonic sensors on the front and rear bumpers, and short-range sound sensors are mainly used in parking applications and to detect close objects.

"It'll save them a few dollars. I mean those things are pretty cheap," Guidehouse Insights analyst Sam Abuelsamid said, referring to ultrasonic sensors. "It will also save them some chips."

Tesla&nbsp;last year started dropping radar sensors amid a chip shortage.

Chief Executive Elon Musk has said&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;can achieve full autonomy with cameras only, but he has missed his targets to roll out self-driving taxis which require no drivers.

The automaker faces growing regulatory, legal and public scrutiny over its autopilot system following crashes.

Tesla&nbsp;said it will remove ultrasonic sensors from the Model 3 and Model Y globally over the next few months, followed by the Model S and Model X in 2023.

The transition will temporarily limit automated parking features, but not affect crash safety ratings,&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;noted.

While self-driving tech firms and automakers use multiple sensors like expensive lidars,&nbsp; Tesla&nbsp;relies only on cameras and artificial intelligence to help a vehicle recognize the environment.

"The question is how well the cameras can see nearby the car, which sometimes can be limited," said Professor Philip Koopman of Carnegie Mellon University.

A widely followed&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;researcher known only as "Green" on Twitter tweeted on Tuesday that ultrasonic sensors are also used in Autopilot as a "fail-safe" feature for changing lanes.

"Impact on safety of autopilot is likely small. Now impact of safety of manual parking on the other hand might be big," he said, adding that parking chimes help people avoid hitting walls and other obstacles.

On Tuesday (December 7), The New York Times reported that Tesla added the games in an over-the-air software update sent to most of its vehicles this summer.&nbsp;

The Times also reported that Tesla update added three games - solitaire, a jet fighter and conquest strategy scenario - and said the company has a warning reading: "Playing while the car is in motion is only for passengers."&nbsp;

This was further highlighted when a retired US-based journalist complaint was filed by Vince Patton, retired journalist. He also said that he watched a YouTube video on how the feature actually works.

He mentioned that in the video, drivers were seen playing video games on the large touchscreen that controls virtually all functions in Tesla vehicles.&nbsp;

"Somebody's going to get killed. I was just dumbfounded," Patton told the Associated Press after filing a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).&nbsp;

NHTSA also expressed concerns over the same feature as on December 8, the agency said they are discussing it with Tesla Inc the electric carmaker's software update.&nbsp;

In a mail, that has been accessed by Reuters, NHTSA said, "Distraction-affected crashes are a concern, particularly in vehicles equipped with an array of convenience technologies such as entertainment screens. We are aware of driver concerns and are discussing the feature with the manufacturer."&nbsp;
