The Delhi High court has rebuked the AAP government over their decision to provide compensation and job to the family of ex-Armyman.

Ex-Armyman Ram Kishan Grewal had committed suicide on November 2016 while protesting against One Rank One Pension (OROP) after which the Delhi government decided to confer the status of&nbsp;&quot;martyr&quot;. The government also assured a sum of Rs 1 crore along with a job to his family.

The Delhi High Court responded to the decision by saying government was &quot;setting a trend - commit suicide and get Rs 1 crore compensation.&quot;

It added, &quot;Imagine you are setting a trend, commit suicide and get Rs 1 crore compensation. And, when you are giving Rs 1 crore compensation to his family, where is the question of compensatory employment?&quot; a bench of acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar said.

The court&#39;s rebuke came after two petitions were filed in the court against the Delhi government&#39;s decision to accord the status of martyr to Ram Kishan Grewal.

The court also rejected the two pleas citing that it was premature and not maintainable at this stage. It also added that the Lieutenant Governor was to take a decision on the matter.&nbsp;

The Delhi Government has also announced to declare the Rajasthan based politician cum farmer Gajendra Singh Kalyanwat as a marytr. He had allegedly committed suicide during an anti-land bill rally by AAP at Jantar Mantar on April 22, 2015.

The court again dismissed a plea seeking the rejection of Delhi government&#39;s decision on Gajendra Singh Kalyanwat. The courts&nbsp;dismissal was based on the argument that the petition was devoid of merit and the petitioner was unable to place legal explanation of the term &quot;martyr&quot;
