<p>Aiming to live up to his illustrious surname, Arjun Tendulkar ran in fast and bowled at the England batsmen on the eve of their big-ticket clash against arch-rivals Australia.</p>

<p>The son of batting legend Sachin Tendulkar Monday marked his run-up at the Lord's nets during England's practice session, drawing, on expected lines, the attention of those present at the mecca of cricket.</p>

<p>Sporting an orange t-shirt, Arjun could be seen bowling to England batsmen under the watchful eyes of the team's spin bowling consultant, Saqlain Mushtaq.</p>

<p>This is not the first time that Arjun has bowled in the nets for England. In 2015, as a 15-year-old, he was part of the group of net bowlers which helped England prepare for the second Ashes Test against Australia.</p>

<p>Arjun, 19, has played for MCC Young Cricketers against Surrey Second XI, picking up two wickets in High Wycombe last week.</p>

<p>Bowling from over the wicket, he produced a beauty of a delivery to castle opener Nathan Tilley in just his second over.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After disturbing Tilley's stumps, Arjun dismissed lower-order batsman BBA Geddes, returning figures of 11-2-50-2.</p>

<p>He has represented India under-19 team against Sri Lanka in a youth Test last year. Last month, Arjun had participated in Mumbai T20 League, playing for Aakash Tigers.</p>

<p>The strapping youngster had taken 19 wickets in just five games for Mumbai Under-19 in the 2017-18 Cooch Behar Trophy.</p>

<p>The junior Tendulkar has only been included in the four-day squad, which will be led by Anuj Rawat. While Aryan Juyal will lead India under-19 team in one-day games.&nbsp</p>

<p>With the Sri Lanka tour scheduled to be held from July 11 to August 11, let's see some interesting facts about the Tendulkar scion.</p>

<p>- In May 2012, Arjun scored his maiden century in the MCA's Under-14 Summer Vacation tournament. The left-hander hammered 124 runs, with 14 fours and a six to help Khar Gymkhana side beat the Goregaon Centre comprehensively by an innings and 21 runs in the semi-finals.</p>

<p>- Unlike his legendary father, 18-year-old Arjun is a left-arm medium pacer and left-hand batsman. He was part of a group of 25 U-19 cricketers who were in Dharamsala in April this year for a month-long camp. According to his coach, Arjun can consistently clock 135 km/h speed. &nbsp</p>

<p>- During the 2017-18 Cooch Behar Trophy, Arjun picked up 19 wickets in five matches, including two five-wicket hauls, for Mumbai Under-19.&nbsp<br />
Last July, Arjun was part of an MCC squad that played two matches against Namibia Under-19 in England. He picked up four wickets to bowl Namibia out for 49.</p>

<p>- Arjun is being closely associated with Atul Gaikwad, a level-3 Pune-based coach from the National Cricket Academy (NCA).&nbsp</p>

<p>- He was roped in by Sachin himself to coach Arjun three years ago. Arjun's action has had to be remodelled after he suffered from two stress fractures that ruled him out of cricket for close to a year in 2016-17.</p>

<p>- When it comes to batting, Arjun has been part of a number of Indian and International clubs, and during his visit to England, he was able to impress none other than the greatest left-arm fast bowler of all time, Wasim Akram.</p>

<p>- The former Pakistan captain spent some time with Arjun and observed that he was an enthusiastic learner.</p>

<p>- He made his debut in the Harris Shield Tournament in 2011, the same tournament where his father registered an epic 664-run partnership with Vinod Kambli.&nbsp</p>
