<p>Later on, news outlet Bally Sports Sun reported that Rosario had suffered lacerations on face but escaped a fracture. His helmet flap appeared to have saved him from what could have been a grave injury.</p>

<p>The 28-year-old is having a breakout year in the Major League Baseball (MLB), striking at 301/.323/.416 when he entered the game on Saturday.</p>

<p>Rosario was picked up by the Rays in free agency last season on a $15.5 million, one-year deal. He has previously played for new York Mets, Cleveland Guardians and Los Angeles Dodgers as well.</p>

<p>The incident happened with Dodgers leading 3-0 in bottom of seventh when Royals reliever Dan Altavilla fired in a stinger inside that hit Betts on his left wrist. The Dodgers player immediately fell on the ground, grimacing in pain while holding his wrist. He eventually left the field.</p>
