Randeep, recently seen in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, spoke to chat show host Siddharth Kannan who asked him why he stood&nbsp;up for Alia Bhatt in 2019.&nbsp; 
 
Randeep revealed he had developed a spiritual bond with Alia when they co-starred in Imtiaz Ali's Highway.&nbsp; 
 
“While making Highway, I developed a spiritual bond with Alia. I don’t know if it’s the same for her. That’s up to her. I can only speak for myself. I have seen that she has always tried to do new things. I stood up for Alia genuinely because she was unfairly targetted (by Kangana Ranaut).” 
 
He then added, “To target your fellow actors or your colleagues or your fraternity over things that you feel you did not get, even though I think you did get a lot from this industry, it’s just unbecoming. I felt that I should do it (defend Alia) and I did it. I did not think about it so deeply. I think she (Alia) tries every time,” he said.
