India's ministry of civil <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/bsf-reports-more-coronavirus-cases-delhi-records-13-deaths-in-last-24-hours-298200">aviation </a>issued guidelines today stating that people above 80 years of age will be restricted from travel in phase I of flight resumption.

The flight SOP issued by the ministry includes no cabin baggage in the initial phase with checked-in baggage to be only one piece. According to the ministry, if the Aarogya Setu app does not reflect "green" then the passenger won't be allowed to enter the airport terminal.

Expanding further, the civil aviation ministry said that Air India along with its subsidiary Air India Express is operating 64 flights to twelve countries including UK, US, Singapore, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

"6,037 citizens have been flown back to India in 31 inbound flights operated by Air India and Air India Express under Vande Bharat Mission in five days beginning from May 7," the ministry said.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the Indian Railways said that a total of 575 “Shramik Special” trains have begun operating in various states with 463 trains having reached its destination and 112 trains in transit.

A special train left from New Delhi railway station for Dibrugarh in Assam today with Railways resuming services for 15 pairs of special air-conditioned trains. A special train also left for Chhattisgarh from the national capital on Tuesday.

On the movement of trains, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said: "Nine trains are coming to West Bengal, one is coming today. We are considering the movement of a hundred more trains."

In Punjab, the sixth special train carrying 1,201 migrant workers left for Chhapra in Bihar.

Low-cost carriers IndiGo and Air India Express have been ranked among the top five cheapest airlines in the world in providing international connectivity.

Air India Express, the wholly-owned subsidiary of state-run carrier Air India has been ranked second and the budget carrier IndiGo placed at fifth position in a Global Flight Pricing Report prepared by Melbourne-based Rome2rio -- a multimodal travel planning site.&nbsp

Two other Indian carriers also figured in the list. Jet Airways gained the 12th place followed by Air India at 13th position. 
 
The report compared 200 major airlines across continents by the average price per kilometer with Air Asia X taking the pole position.

Air India Express, mostly connecting Gulf countries and Singapore, has an average cost of USD 0.08 per km and IndiGo USD 0.10 per km. The latter connects Indian cities with Gulf countries besides Bangkok, Colombo and Kathmandu.&nbsp

AirAsia X at the top has an average of USD 0.07 per km.

The data was analysed by taking into account the economy class airfares displayed by Rome2rio during the first two months of this year, totalling some 1.5 million price points. The outcome of the report was released this month.

According to the report, four out of the top five cheapest airlines are in Asia.&nbsp

Indonesia AirAsia and the Primera Air are the other two to have been put in the top five. Etihad, Ryanair, Qantas, Wow Air and Virgin Australia were among the top ten affordable airlines. Wow Air had recently announced to connect Delhi with Europe and US cities through its hub in Reykjavik in Iceland from December 7 onwards, with the base price starting at Rs 13,499. 
 
None of the airlines from the UK or US found a place among the top 10 affordable airlines in the report.&nbsp

IndiGo, Air India Express among top 5 cheapest airlines in the world

Once a great airline and now decrepit, Air India would get split into four separate companies and the government is offering at least 51% in each of them as part of their disinvestment plan.

As per media reports, the plan was proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The four sections in which the airline would get divided are airline business, regional arm, ground handling and engineering operations, said reports.

Media reports quoted Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha as saying that the core airline business comprising Air India and Air India Express, the low coast overseas arm will be offered as one company.

The process is expected to get complete by the end of the year 2018.

Last week, India had cleared a proposal to allow foreign investors which&nbsp;allows foreign investors to own up to 49% in the airline.

Recently, Tata group showed interest in bidding for Air India along with Singapore airline.

Tata group chairman N Chandrasekaran had said last year that his group was ready to bid for the state-run airlines.
