Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has now banned government employees from wearing jeans and T-shirts during duty hours.

Acting on the government&#39;s direction, Bareilly District Magistrate (DM) Surendra Singh asked all the officials in collectorate to comply with the order.&nbsp;

&quot;No more wearing of jeans and T-shirts. We have directed all government employees to attend office in a formal dress code only,&quot; Singh told DNA.

The DM has also directed all department heads to issue a formal order in this regard. &quot;It is not only about a formal dress code, they have been asked to attend office in time and dispose off files as speedily as possible with proper noting of date and time of disposal. Laxity will no longer be tolerated under the new regime,&quot; warned Singh.

CMO, Bareilly, warned that violators of the orders will be marked absent and salary of a day will be deducted.&nbsp;

The order, dated March 22, 2017, also spelled out a dress code -- pant-shirt for males and saree/salwar-suit for female government employees.
