Speaking to local media outlets, police officer Dileep Rajoriya said that the man has been arrested for allegedly raping, thrashing and torturing a woman by sealing her mouth using adhesive and putting chilli power in her wound. As per the police officer, the 23-year-old woman was being forced by the accused Ayan Pathan to marry him. The police officer further said that the man also wanted her house, which was in the name of her mother. The police officer added that the woman was assaulted with a belt and a pipe by the man after her mother informed him that she had sold the house. He stated that the woman’s mother was not in Shivpuri when the victim was assaulted by Pathan. The victim informed the police that the accused held her hostage for a month and repeatedly raped her. She also confirmed to the police that the accused had his eyes set on the ancestral property of the victim and the property's registration to be transferred in his name. The officials admitted the victim to the district hospital. She is in critical condition and has been receiving medical treatment. According to the doctors, the woman's condition is serious. Accused nabbed while illegally supplying liquor The accused was arrested by the police based on the victim's statements and an investigation has been initiated in the case. The police have booked the accused under Indian Penal Code’s Sections 376 (rape), 294 (obscene language), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and under the Excise Act.
