In the early trading session on Tuesday, all 10 Adani stocks traded in green. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd recorded a 7.7 surge while flagship Adani&nbsp;Enterprises Ltd. gained almost 19 per cent.&nbsp;

The port unit houses the Adani Group's most lucrative assets and is regarded as the crown jewel of the company. According to data compiled by Bloomberg, every analyst covering the stock has given a buy rating to it. Cumulatively, the 10 Adani stocks have raked in $22 billion since Thursday's trading session last week, clearing the deficit to $105 billion from the $153 billion fallout in the aftermath of the report.&nbsp;

The stocks have managed to change the tide after India's market regulator&nbsp;Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) submitted a report to the court panel, according to which there was&nbsp;“no evident pattern of manipulation” in the steep stock-price rise in Adani’s companies.&nbsp;

<h2>SC grants extension to SEBI</h2>

Additionally, the Supreme Court (SC) has granted the market regulator time till August 14 to submit its final report. SEBI had moved the SC last month demanding a six-month extension to probe the case.

The regulator argued&nbsp;that the complexity of the case meant it would take 15 months to complete the investigation. According to SEBI, there are as many as eight possible violations that require&nbsp;more time to complete the probe.&nbsp;

"Pass an order extending the time to conclude the investigation as directed by this Court by the common order dated March 2 by a period of 6 months or such other period as this court may deem fit and necessary in the facts and circumstances of the present case," read the plea filed by SEBI.&nbsp;

Previously, media reports claimed that the multi-billion dollar company had tapered its revenue growth to 15 per cent to 20 per cent for the next financial year, down from the earlier target of 40 per cent.

However, the recent gains might prompt the company board to recalibrate its plans.&nbsp;

The Hindenburg report&nbsp;accused the Adani group of stock manipulation and using tax havens whilst having unsustainable debt.&nbsp;In the brutal fallout of Hindenburg's report, investors dumped Adani shares while the company was forced to abandon a $2.5 billion share sale.&nbsp;

Indian authorities seize containers carrying radioactive material being transferred from Pak to China

Equity benchmark indices traded range-bound on Wednesday but closed in the green as investors contemplated stock-specific action on the first trading session of the calendar year 2020.

The BSE S&amp;P Sensex closed 52 points up at 41,306 while the Nifty 50 edged higher by 21 points at 12,190.

Sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) were mixed a day after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a Rs 102 lakh crore infrastructure pipeline project for the next five years at a time when overall economic growth is slowing.

Among stocks, Adani Ports was the top winner with an intra-day gain of 3.13 per cent to Rs 377.45 per share. Power Grid Corporation gained by 2.8 per cent while NTPC ticked up by 2.1 per cent.

The other prominent gainers were Vedanta, Bharti Infratel, Infosys, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, HDFC, Larsen &amp; Toubro and Hindustan Lever.

However, private sector lenders slipped with IndusInd Bank down by 1.5 per cent, Axis Bank by 0.7 per cent and Kotak Mahindra Bank by 0.6 per cent.

Titan was down by 2.7 per cent despite Crisil upgrading its rating on its long-term bank facilities totalling Rs 2,850 crore to AAA with a stable outlook.

Auto majors like Eicher Motors, Bajaj Auto and Maruti too were in the red along with ONGC, Zee Entertainment, and Tata Steel.

Major gainers were Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, M&M, HUL, Axis Bank, ITC, RIL, Adani Ports, Maruti Suzuki, Dr Reddy's, ONGC, Sun Pharma and Bajaj Auto, rising up to 2 percent.

Brokers said sustained buying by domestic institutional investors, firm trend other Asian bourses and encouraging earnings by some blue chips company boosted the sentiment here.

Sectoral indices, led by realty, FMCG, auto, bankex and consumer durables, were trading in the positive zone with gains of up to 0.93 percent.

On the other hand, shares of Bharti Airtel fell 0.94 percent and IDFC Bank dropped 0.10 percent, ahead of their Q4 results scheduled to be announced today.&nbsp;

Metal stocks cracked as aluminium prices continued to fall after the US softened its stance on sanctions against Russian metals giant United Company Rusal, leading to a record plunge in aluminium prices.

Nalco, Hindalco, Vedanta and Jindal Steel were among the top losers in the BSE metal index, diving by up to 8 percent.

Meanwhile, on a net basis, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 387.26 crore, while foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 259.08 crore yesterday, per provisional data showed.

Among other Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei was up 0.67 percent, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose 1.20 percent in early trade. Shanghai Composite Index gained 1.95 percent.

Sensex gains 147 points on firm global cues, Nifty opens over 10,600

Benchmark BSE Sensex advanced over 130 points today, continuing its rising streak for the fourth straight day, on firm global leads after Chinese President Xi Jinping's speech eased worries over a trade war.

The 30-share Sensex was trading higher by 130.31 points, or 0.38 per cent, at 33,918.85, with all the sectoral indices rising up to 1.80 per cent.

The gauge had gained 774.47 points in the previous three sessions.

The NSE Nifty breached the 10,400-mark, up 38.80 points, or 0.37 per cent, at 10,418.15.

Meanwhile, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 359.35 crore yesterday, while foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) remained sellers and offloaded shares worth Rs 1,300.93 crore as per provisional data.

A firm trend in other Asian markets after Chinese President Xi Jinping eased worries over a simmering US trade conflict by promising new measures to open his country's massive economy "wider and wider" boosted investor sentiment here, brokers said.

The rupee's appreciation against the dollar and widening of bets by investors amid optimism ahead of earnings season also supported the uptrend, they said.

Major gainers included Axis Bank, Adani Ports, Tata Steel, L&T, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, Kotak Bank, TCS, Power Grid, Bajaj Auto, Sun Pharma and Reliance Industries, gaining up to 2.41 per cent.

The 30-share barometer, which had gained 318.48 points in the previous session, was trading higher by 138.52 points, or 0.41 per cent, at 33,490.09. Sectoral indices led by Metal, IT, Teck, Consumer Durables and FMCG led the gains, rising by up to 0.64 per cent.

On similar lines, the NSE Nifty was up by 35.35 points, or 0.34 per cent, at 10,278 points.

Traders said sentiment remained upbeat on increased buying by domestic institutional investors and a firm trend at other Asian markets, extending gains on Wall Street following signs from the White House that US President Donald Trump&#39;s tariffs may be softer than initially feared.

Major gainers that supported the upmove were Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, Tata Steel, Adani Ports, Hero MotoCorp, HDFC, ITC and Dr Reddy&#39;s, rising by up to 1.03 per cent.

However, Gitanjali Gems remained under selling pressure and traded 4.82 per cent lower at Rs 15.80.

Sentiments bolstered in all Asian markets following positive cues from Wall Street.

Also, continued buying by domestic institutional investors (DIIs) and strengthening rupee boosted market mood, brokers said.

The BSE Sensex rose 133.78 points, or 0.39 per cent, to 34,275.93. All sectoral indices were trading higher, led by metals, auto, capital goods and banking stocks that gained up to 1.34 per cent.

The gauge had gained 322.65 points in the previous session on Friday.

The broader Nifty 50 index was also trading above the key 10,500-level at 10,529.10, a gain of 38.05 points, or 0.36 per cent.

Major gainers were Tata Motors, Adani Ports, Bajaj Auto and Maruti, rising up to 2.26 per cent.

On a net basis, DIIs bought equities to the tune of Rs 1,514.03 crore, while foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 486.32 crore on Friday, provisional data showed.

Sensex rises 134 points, Nifty tops 10,500 on global cues

Stocks staged a strong comeback in early trade with the BSE Sensex gaining over 260 points and the Nifty recapturing the 10,500-level on continued buying by domestic funds ahead of inflation data to be released after market hours today.

Asian markets were also trading in the green after a late-day rally on Wall Street on Friday.

The 30-share Sensex recovered by 260.12 points, or 0.76 per cent, to 34,265.88 in opening trade. The index had lost 407.40 points or 1.18 per cent to settle at one month low of 34,005.76 on Friday.

All the sectoral indices led by metal, realty and infrastructure were trading in the green with gains up to 1.44 per cent.

The broad-based NSE Nifty went up by 81.65 points or 0.78 per cent to 10,536.60.

Major gainers were ONGC, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, Adani Ports, L&amp;T, HeromotoCorp and Axis Bank.

Larsen and Toubro rose by 1 per cent after it announced a Rs 2,200 crore order win by its wholly-owned arm L&amp;T Hydrocarbon Engineering from Abu Dhabi-based Al Dhafra Petroleum Operations Company Limited.

SBI, however, dropped 2.85 per cent following poor quarterly results. The PSU lender on Friday posted a net loss of Rs 1,886.57 crore after a massive under-reporting of dud assets in the past fiscal and reverses in treasury operations.

Brokers said sustained buying by domestic institutional investors amid a firm trend at other Asian bourses improved the market sentiment.

Stocks were off to a positive start in the final trading session of 2017, with the benchmark Sensex gaining 110 points and the NSE Nifty crossing the 10,500-point mark on widespread gains led by banking, FMCG and capital goods shares.

Besides, beginning of January series in the futures and options (F&amp;O) segment accelerated buying by participants, which supported the upside.

The 30-share index rose 110.26 points, or 0.32 per cent, to 33,958.29. All the sectoral indices led by power, capital goods, infrastructure and healthcare were up, rising by up to 1.01 per cent.
