<p>According to reports, as many as eight people have died in West Bengal after being struck by lightning. 4 people died in Bankura, one each in East Midnapore, Birbhum, North 24 Parganas and Hooghly district respectively, ANI reported.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Sunday, a young cricketer died on the field while practising after being struck by lightning. Kolkata and North Bengal districts have witnessed torrential rainfall over the last 48 hours.</p>

<p>The weather office has predicted more rainfall for Bengal, Sikkim and other North-Eastern states in days to come with the onset of monsoon.</p>
