Under-19 stars Shivam Mavi and Avesh Khan have been scolded for breaching the Level 1 code of conduct of Indian Premier League.
Fast-medium bowlers Shivam Mavi and Avesh Khan play for Kolkata and Delhi respectively. Both the players made inappropriate remarks towards batsmen during Delhi-Kolkata match on Friday and have been reprimanded by the match referee.
An IPL media release stated, "Both Mr. Mavi and Mr. Khan admitted to the Level 1 offence under 2.1.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials and accepted the sanctions."
For Level 1 breaches of the IPL Code of Conduct, the match referee's decision is final and binding.
The players are reprimanded for showing a disrespectful attitude while sending-off the batsmen after taking wickets.
The incidents happened on Friday, April 27 during the Delhi-Kolkata clash at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.
Shivam Mavi of Kolkata disrespected Colin Munro and said some derogatory words while celebrating the dismissal of the batsman.
In the second inning, Avesh Khan of Delhi gave Andre Russell a mouthful of abuse after taking his wicket.
Shivam Mavi conceded 29 runs in the Delhi innings' final over as the home team thrashed Kolkata by 55 runs and ended its losing jinx under the guidance of newly appointed skipper Shreyas Iyer.
